I think it could be a lot better, most of Lusternia's writing is really good but this is so so. The word weapon is used twice in quick succession, why not change one with blade?

Also, not every character is going to have an evil grin when they do it.

The messages are probably a pain to think up on the fly. How about -

It's a random amount of bleeding, but a large amount.

As for the message, your suggestion sounds good I'll change it. I'm sure many of you realized I wrote that message after a couple hours of no sleep.....
