I believe the Great Spirits of Ackleberry (but I could be wrong) were Brother Bear and Sister Lake.
Jasper2005-02-23 17:44:40
They are refering to this:

History of the Desert Forest

And some people already know what the Spirits of Ackleberry are, just not High Priest or Priestess of the Lakewood Coven, nor their Druid.

And you would be right, yep.
Gwylifar2005-02-23 17:49:40
If one day it turned out that on the Ethereal Plane you had to go south-southwest, instead of just south, to get into Glomdoring, and south-southeast led to Ackleberry, making a triangle, this would hardly be a contradiction. Ethereal is already so inside-out and, well, ethereal, that it'd seem entirely appropriate for it to shift and rebalance itself -- or for that matter, for it to have been like that all along, but the reappearance of Ackleberry shifting our perceptions of it.
Rashidat2005-02-23 17:49:49
When Ackleberry left, it was to protect the spirits from corruptions. Brother Bear is still a bondable spirit. Why does he remain when Sister Lake is gone?
Jasper2005-02-23 17:53:03
I would think that perhaps it is because Brother Bear is the physical spirit of Ackleberry? And perhaps he cannot be seperated from Lusternia? Meh, just a thought. blink.gif

How about this:

Maybe River and Lake are one spirit.

Can you spiritbond to River in Moon Lake?

Edit:Yes. Apparently you can. You might just be on to something Gwylifar
Niara2005-02-23 18:05:05
Maybe the spirits you can bond with don't have much to do with the greater spirits of the three forests.

I like the idea of Ackleberry, though Niara doesn't really care. Her life and devotion completely belongs to Serenwilde.
Shiri2005-02-23 18:11:36
Wasn't Father Sun Ackleberry-based too?

That's so far between the lines it's out the back of the page and somewhere down the road. blink.gif

You call upon the spirit of crow and feel oily black feathers caress your skin,
making you shudder.

You call upon the spirit of mother night to hide you. Her tainted presence
makes your skin crawl.

So I had this theory that Gloriana followed Mother Night so they were dark aka evil, and Ackleberry followed Father Sun so they were light aka good, and Serenwilde followed Mother Moon the light in the dark so they were neutral, but its all gone out the window now.

I thought river was the spirit of Ackleberry. Forget where I saw it, but yar...
Daganev2005-02-23 20:54:08
Wow. Your people arn't suppose to take me seriously.

Using a Map's symetry to make up histories is something I think is funny, and not to be looked at seriously.

I started rumors that the desert use to be a forest to mess with someone once. I came up with these crazy theories.
Moon and Hart, Crow and Night. So we stuck Sun with acklberry, and I said Skarch Forest was Day. To further this concept we said Lake was in Ackleberry. So its opposite would be in Skarch.
Hart is a land animal, Crow a sky animal. So Laike is a land inanimate ojbect and you could have Cloud in Skarch. Cloud fights with Sun asking who's more important to the forest, and Since you have a Hot Day and Clouds blocking the light, everything dies.

This is in conjuction with my theory that Blue(sky/water) cities MUST ally with eachotehr and Red(lava/war(conquer--blood) cities must do the same.
Erion2005-02-23 22:17:34
Dag dear, Auseklis just said Father Sun is NOT Ackleberry-based, but he IS a great spirit.

Father Sun could, though = skarch.

It's been stated before that they are, I believe.
It's rather one for all freshwater, than one for lakes and one for rivers.

I doubt the Skarch was ever a forest. The current nexuses weren't created, the ethereal had not been found by mortals, ect. until after the Vernal Wars, when all of the survivors fled to the Basin. The Skarch was already a desert when the other forests came to power, raising their nexuses and coming into contact with the Fae. If the Skarch was a forest it was way before any mortals came to live in the basin, and likely was/will be of little importance.
Unknown2005-02-23 22:42:48
Also, there are way more 'forest' spirits than just the 'main' ones (Sun, Moon, Night, Hart, Crow, Bear, Lake). I know of one Serenwilde spirit besides Moon and Hart, and according to Merloch there are a handful of other ones. They aren't as important, but they cannot be discounted.
Desdemona2005-02-23 22:44:51
Brother Wolf, now he -has- to be the Spirit of Ackleberry and be in love with Mother Moon, and Mother Night be kind of jealous for all this... so tells Brother Raven aka. Crow, to pest Brother Stag so She can have Wolf for herself. Brother Wolf and Sister Lake disappeared along with Ackleberry, leaving Moon and Night alone. So now, Moon tries to captivate all the attention of the onlookers at night-time... wanting to once again sense Brother Wolf contemplating Her. In the meantime, Mother Night drawn insane and jealous wants to completely engulf Mother Moon on Her dark mantle. In all this, Brother Crow ended up dead, thanks to his messing with Brother Stag who proved to be the most virile of the two.
