Don't know if this was noticeable to anyone else but, the time it takes to enchant a statue seems to have gone from trivial to ridiculous. 10 statues took over an hour and a half or a little less then ten minutes per statue. Anyone have any idea if this is what was intended in the new fix?
Unknown2005-02-24 19:35:03
Not enchanting 10 statues quickly?
Unknown2005-02-24 19:39:49
No taking ten minutes per statue. I don't know how long it took before, so i'm wondering if its only slightly longer then it was or if it used to be a minute a statue and they made it ten minutes per statue. Just seems like it takes a long time to enchant.

Seriously, why are you complaining? If you had Runelore in Achaea, you would have known it takes on average 20 minutes to implant a totem and 35 minutes to remove it. 10 minutes for a statue is nothing considering that it will still take longer to take it down, I personally like it taking longer so Magi can't just simply demesne a large area, craft a statue, then demesne summon people into it and kill them.
Estarra2005-02-24 19:52:02
There was an announce post stating that enchanting and destroying a statue now takes a longer time.
Narsrim2005-02-24 20:03:04
Why are people complaining about statues? They are now long-term and whereas they may take more time to prep, they take just as long to take down. Thus, _ONE_ Magi/Guardian can enchant statues for an _ENTIRE_ city (even if it takes a long time) such that the end result is a series of statues that no enemy will ever have time to destroy.
Serenwilde can accomplish a similar feat except only one Stag user can bond to one Totem. Furthermore, given the nature of the areas, Serenwilde is far more spread out and has many entrance/exits whereas cities have ~4. Thus, Totems are still second rate.

Maybe i'm not making myself clear. I want to know if it has gone from one extreme to another. I saw the post. I didn't have runelore.
I'll restate.
I'm NOT Trying to complain. I am ASKING if the difference between what it used to be and what it is, is large. Did it used to take a minute and now it takes ten, or did it use to take nine and a half and now it takes ten.
It SEEMS long to me, but I DON'T KNOW for sure since I couldn't and still can't enchant statues.
Also i'm not talking about runelore in achaea, i'm talking about statues in Lusternia, when the two games intermingle and I can check my achaean messages from lusternia then i'll worry about what skills in achaea are like versus their counterparts in lusternia.
It's just a question for my own personal knowledge, sorry if the pursuit of information is annoying to some people. I'll remain ignorant so when I post on something you can jump right back in my face and call me stupid.
And Narsrim my character is Serenguard. so I don't see how the issue of Serenwildes totems being second place to statues has any place here.
I'll restate.

Enchanting statues used to take about four or five seconds from the time that I type 'enchant statue' to the time I got eq back.
And then tack on another 20 seconds or so to affix the appropriate runes.

Thank you
Narsrim2005-02-24 20:21:22
Meh. I think it should take less time to destroy statues, however, an added cost could be power. For example, you could catalyze the process by burning 10p per statue and blow it up in under a minute, etc.
Unknown2005-02-24 20:23:16
Destroying statues I can do, and as soon as I get the urge, I plan to find out if that was put on the same level as enchanting. Sorry for being such a hostile idiot. Though it's no exscuse it's been a long couple of days. Sorry for snapping at everyone.

Um...
Richter2005-02-24 21:16:39
Anyone see the one about be taking four minutes to destroy a statue, and my timeout trigger messing that up?
Or was that a bug... *scratch*
And, on a side note, why on earth can't I enchant statues in my manse?? You'd think since they're private, it would be -more- acceptable to have those runed.

Something about elemental or cosmic magic just not functioning in a place that isn't a real plane, so it doesn't really connect to the planes you derive said magic from.
Richter2005-02-24 23:33:48
So, You're saying that guardian skills should no longer work in manses, hmm?
What's the -real- reason. Tell me, or else... I'll shinkick Buho.

We didn't want you to.

Thought so.

Statues are better now, since if you put one up near guards, it is for all intents and purposes "undestroyable".
