happy.gif Crap, Ialie, my public posts, if copied into a forum, could leave Shiri busy for an hour. tongue.gif

Aside from the censoring, if any of you have some constructive criticism to help Daganev, Richter and I can improve our moderating, by all means let us know. I'm sure we would appreciate the feedback and will do our best to work on any shortcomings. happy.gif

Meh. As long as the moderators put aside their personal beliefs then I think they'll do a fine job. Things like the "crap" issue are prime examples of personal beliefs versus necessary action.

Editing polls is also something that shouldn't be done, unless language permits changing.

That's why I wanted the moderators to be separate entities from their posting personas, since people tend to mix the two so easily and put their beliefs infront of duty.

There is nothing. Cept make that smile ^.^
Hehe.

And by the way, I voted for whom I thought was the worst mod, not who I thought was a bad mod. All of them are doing a great job, even if censoring a bit too much.

Keep it up.

When it comes to moderating, less is more. Use your powers only when 100% necissary.

About the post, Ialie, that was the one that started it all. Shiri censored it, and I changed it back. Apparently, it's worse in the UK than it is over here.

I -do- find it strange that we have posts like Erion's (which make me twitch when I read them) and babykilling, then we go nuts here.

I only mess with things when people ask me to (changing thier vote, banning Rexali and Dyr, editing a misspelling in a topic), or if it's a blatant curse word. Remember, we aren't RPing here, and some people push it more than they must, or just get carried away in a rant. I don't think they're a lesser person for it, if used sparingly, but I do take the time to add in our favorite smiley.

I'm all for the hands off approach. This is, after all, your guys' opinions, and why should we mess with it? Bottom line is, you'll only know I did something if you do something bad. There'll be a nice little "Edited by Richter" thrown in the post, or something of the like.

And I have a single vote now. Rather than be overjoyed at the fact I'm kicking some serious butt in the polls, I'm dismayed that someone finds me to be less... acceptable, than the other mods.

But hey, opinions are like armpits. Everyone has 'em, and they all stink.

You other mods should take a page out of Richter's book, he's right on target.

I search for words that shouldn't be on the forums once every few days. If the post is old I don't bother censoring it. I only look for two words.

I'm curious as to what bias I have shown as a moderator. I don't know of any.

Though, I will freely admit that my silly poll altering in the past is deserving a quite a few votes.

Surely none of the moderators are that bad as to deserve being booted. tongue.gif Worst != bad, but I bet there isn't a lot of difference when you're the one being voted for. Some people just don't think before they vote. dry.gif

Would be great if you guys could still play around with the votes and make a giant urn get -uber votes and yourself have +345 or something. (Edit: I don't feel this way for every single poll, just those where there is a potential for hurt feelings)

And I still want a "none" option stab.gif
Richter2005-02-28 20:59:10
Done.

And I still have a vote. *sigh*

I see you got 2 now. ohmy.gif (It wasn't me, really).
