Scary isn't it?
Terenas2005-02-28 20:09:20
I'm really not sure where Narsrim got that number, I'd really like to see a log of Murphy able to crush someone's limb down to critical in one blow.
Narsrim2005-02-28 20:10:03
I'll gladly provide a log of our next duel. I about had a stroke when it happened.
Narsrim2005-02-28 20:11:14
And as for trans resilience, mine must be broke (Ethelon is having similar problems, I believe) because I accumulate afflictions. Moondancers are an "affliction class" so sayth most people and I cannot out afflict (even with Hexes) an Aslaran Serenguard with charbydon.

Moondancer with hexes, ok affliction class, Moondancer with healing != affliction class. Ethelon is also a healing Celestine, so he isn't really an affliction-class but Celestines still have good affliction abilities in Sacraments and Celestialism, whereas Moondancers don't in Wicca or Moon.
And I've yet to see you post a log against an Aslaran Serenguard with charybdon that is afflicting faster than you can heal, or anyone for that matter.

I didn't say faster than I could heal (hell, I have Full Moon and bedevil). I said faster than I can afflict (which is like 1 affliction every 10 seconds and waning).
Furthermore, Hexes is only decent for Mugwumps. That's it.

But you're not really an affliction class! You have crone that gives one random affliction every 8 or so seconds, and a pixie that strips insomnia and waning and dark moon (ha!) in Moon. I'm sorry, but how would it make sense that you can afflict faster than a knight?

That's exactly the point. We're SUPPOSED to be an affliction class (I mean, what the heck are we else? We're sure as heck not a damage class, what offense are we MEANT to have?), but we have pathetic afflictions.

Please create a label for my class Terenas.
We have established that I cannot afflict, deal damage, or use various instant kills. I am sure there is a word out there for it.
Daganev2005-02-28 22:03:47
A suggestion for "passive attacks"
Paladins: Auras (Diablo rules)
Ur'guard: Contagion like it use to be, i.e usefull.
Serenguard: A Stag to ride or a Hovering orb of moon.

Tanks? No other classes can absorb the amount of magical damage you guys can, or can heal passively as well. Moondancer with Hexes = great for team fighting and jumping, Moondancer with healing = nearly unkillable.

We are not that tanky. Dwarves are pretty tanky, but Dwarves != Moondancers. Narsrim and I would be far more tanky as a Warrior archetype, then as Moondancers.
As for Warriors.
Warriors do the most damage (to much) of any class by an extreme amount, coupled with high wounds damage that causes the damage to ramp up quickly.
Warriors can take the most damage, and are capable of reaching insane levels of health.
Warriors are by far the best bashers.
Warriors fall in the above average range as far as afflicting goes.
Warriors are not underpowered. However, Bonecrushers are better then Blademasters yes, but Bonecrushers need some toning down at the same time Blademasters need a small addition.

First, Tuek and I both have trans alchemy and thus sip for more than most people. This has nothing to do with Moondancers but certainly factors into us healing damage.
Second, have you ever tried Hexes? It takes 2 seconds to draw a hex and 2 seconds to shove one with normal equilibrium. I fail to see how this is beneficial against anyone who can cure.
Third, what makes a Moondancer with healing nearly unkillable? There are no defense skills in Healing. In fact, I use -TWO- skills from the entire skillset in combat: deepheal (which is a mirror copy of puer) and bedevil (which is broken).
EDIT: It would be just as misplaced to say that a geomancers are tanks if someone tried a Tae'dae/Igasho Geomancer.

We have spores which is a mirror copy of hermit tarot.
We have flow which works only in forests (ie. Serenwilde and Glomdoring 99% of the time).
We have burrow (which is semi effective depending on the environment).

Heh, I've rarely used Hexes while fighting alongside Narsrim in group combat. It's a pointless endeavor.

You forgot Lichdom and Empress/Lust.
Edit: And starleaper, I suppose, to a small extent, but it sucks.

Actually there are a lot of ethereal forests. From Serenwilde to Estelbar, half of Astral, Balach Swamp, those mountains and hills to the west of Serenwilde. All of Rockholm. All of Serenwilde.
