I've seen people spell 'ridiculous' as 'rediculous' all over these forums. Why? My poor little correctly trained Australian mind is hurting.
Yrael2005-03-02 05:42:20
Australian.

I want answers!!

They say it like that, I guess. Like, the odd American I see that says "hear" when they mean "hair", because that's how they say it. (That one's usually so blatantly obvious that they blink for a few seconds and slap themselves after saying it, though.) Like, uh...another one...okay, I can't think of any, you might get the picture anyway.
Asarnil2005-03-02 18:22:22
Because they are vastly inferior to us Aussies and are tired of trying to raise themselves to our high level of spelling and grammar.
Shiri2005-03-02 18:28:13
^^ said Asarnil, in an incomplete sentence.

You sir, have obviously never heard of being facetious.
It would have nothing to do with me not sleeping for the last two days, nosiree it wouldn't. I am going off to get some sleep now though, so I will fix up the sentence structure when I wake up later. But the above statement is still going to be my official version of events.

I have no problem with spelling things correctly. Perhaps it was because I lived 3 years in Britain or what.
I've gotten accustomed to spelling things the American way, though. Such as color and whatnot.
._. And I don't have a stupid American accent, either.

"You have no honor!"
"That's 'cause there's no such thing."
"...what?"
(That'll throw 'em a curve.)

You have no appreciating for independance and expression through spelling.
There was sadly a movement here to get rid of spelling bees because its bad on the self esteam of children who can't spell.
I'm not carefully of my spelling most of the time, but even I'm insulted by that concept.

*thwack*
I was actually just wondering if ridiculous was spelled with an e in America, if it is just some wierd nerd-movement or just a constant typo.

I'd just like to say that the next one of you Australians who spell a word incorrectly is getting kicked out of my country. Get your own.
