Cos there are so many complaints about blademaster and the knighthood skillsets I've compiled a list of the main topics about them so everyone can see them.

blademaster is underpowered! we need new and better skills
Gwylifar2005-03-01 18:09:42
No, it's just that every single blademaster is dumb and lazy and hasn't figured out the secret tactic combination that would make us the overlords of all we survey.

How much damage does Daevos do per combo? How much bleeding would he generate with Rend? Do other Knights of similar skill find themselves unable to kill targets?
Daevos does a -lot- of damage. He would cause massive amounts of bleeding. Furthermore, I've yet to hear of Daevos or Valek (or other exceptionally good Knights) being unable to "do the job" with their current skills.
Obviously, there is some potential. Furthermore, I think the problem is that you expect your class to be beyond others. No class is the "overlords of all they survey"...

As I told you before you left the Aquamancers, you'd never find a class that had it so easy. Quit trying to create a new one

From Amaru's log-

The deep damage in your head completely heals.

Daevos seems to be able to do 930 damage to Amaru.

Ah checkmate Narsim.
Plus I dont see every blademaster on the forums thinking that they should be overpowered. Have you tried being a blademaster? Not being out of order but it is harder to fight as a knight, though also funner

I don't want it as easy as I had it as an Aquamancer. Believe it or not, phantom staff staff staff staff staff gets boring.

I actually had a lot of fun fighting as an Aquamancer. Especially with runes and Illusions. It wasn't boring when you were trying to kill a knight hitting you for close to 2k per every few seconds, but still came out winning.
Ceres2005-03-01 19:44:29
Runes = rubbish
Illusions = rubbish apart from phantom.
No knight could out-damage me, considering I could attack from the adjacent room while my demesne slowed their movement after me.

Valek left before pinleg got nerfed, which might've had something to do with it.

Combo damage has little to do with bleeding. Blademasters need affliction upgrades, not damage ones. (Though Daevos does hurt bad, Ethelon told me I do double his damage.)
Valek was around before pinleg got nerfed, which was the only way he could beat people like Amaru. Last time I checked Terenas was one of the best knights around, and he's asking for some alterations as well. I think everyone who knows even the slightest bit about blademasters can agree on and understands that bonecrushers can afflict and get an enemy behind in healing much more effectively than a blademaster.
No more damage- yes better afflicting, that's all.

I'd like to clarify. I am in no way saying that Blademasters are up to par with Bonecrushers. However, I don't feel the way to "balance" out the two is to just make Blademasters stronger. I personally feel Bonecrushers are too good with the change to knockdown... but that may just be me.

I've found Bonecrushers to be a lot better with the new knockdown change as well. It is virtually impossible to defend yourself against constant knockdown/wind since you are unable to parry while proned. Then a BC could simply smite down and gut to keep you constantly off balanced so you can't stand up, and hit your head until he bashes your brain in. BC are vastly superior to BM in terms of afflictions and hinderance, it would be great if knockdown's stun effect was removed, wind wasn't stackable (such as 8 wind in a row that vitalized me), and BM's afflictions were made more debilitating or let us slice off limbs that requires regeneration to cure.
silimaur2005-03-02 09:37:16
i have always found it fun to fight as a blademaster especially against other bonecrushers but it becomes really discouraging when any one of them can smash us apart, and we seem to get downgraded as they get upgraded and we were worse then them to begin with
celahir2005-03-02 09:51:31
If they're to down grade Bonecrushers make their stun not last as long or make it harder for them to stun you. Thats the best thing to do.
silimaur2005-03-02 09:53:43
i agree, its impossible to kill someone who maybe every hit can cause a 10 second stun, whats the point i may as well go bonecrusher so i can do it to

Sounds fair to me. Although I do hope Regeneration in Healing is fixed first *prays*

Ceres, have you trained your knight skills yet? Are you ready to fight me in a non-demesne fight? You give me the impression that you believe any skill that takes effort to use well is rubbish.
