Eye When on the ground, an eye sigil will prevent souls from
entering the room. On the other hand, when thrown at the ground,
(i.e. THROW EYE AT GROUND), an eye sigil will disappear in a
flash of light and pull all phased people back into phase with
reality.
I think it's been bugged many times by now and I know I've personally bugged it, but it has yet to be fixed, even though it's something so important to combat. For those who don't know, you cannot fling an eye sigil at the ground to pull someone phased/ghosted out of such.

Yes, it's been broken forever, and lots of us have no way to pull people out of ghost other than that... please fix!

I see no problem
Eye sigils have never pulled people out of ghost in any IRE game, to my knowledge.
Shamarah2005-03-01 16:45:49
Ceres, you obviously haven't tried using one; you actually can't target the ground. WIELD EYE, THROW EYE AT GROUND produces "I do not recognize anything called that here."

Feh. I didn't read the post properly.

You are also forgetting statues and rock illusions since those are considered phased as well. Perhaps you should read over topic's posts more clearly before jumping in and posting the first things that came to your mind, just a suggestion.
Ceres2005-03-01 18:46:30
I agree wholeheartedly
Typhus2005-03-01 18:57:51
Needs fixed or I can hide as a rock all day long. Not fair to others.

There are ways to attack rocks. I guess it hasn't been used against you yet...
Daganev2005-03-02 01:15:56
Is the help file broken or the command broken?
I don't know of any "phase" abilities. And as they said, you can't target the ground.

I've been told by the admin that it was a mistake and the Code for that part of Eye sigil was erased it seems and has to be put back in...or something like that, it was a few weeks ago. But it's been confirmed numerous times that it's supposed to pull those in ghost and certain illusions out of such...if it worked of course.
Drago2005-03-02 03:06:43
It's supposed to pull people out of ghost?
Will it have a coressponding power cost to throw it then, or will ghost lose its power cost?

Eldanien2005-03-02 03:20:46
There is a power cost - it takes 2p to enchant an eye sigil.

Should still take power to throw. Power that can be used before hand and then refilled is vastly advantageous to power used on the spot.

I'm not sure if Drago is serious or not, so if I'm jumping at a joke, I'm sorry.
However: lots of things have power costs that are stopped with things that don't have power costs. For example: summoned creatures, takes power to get them, no power to kill them. Timed instakills like chasm and judgment, takes power to use them, walking out of the area isn't exactly a power intensive act. You get the idea, not to mention any power related afflicting abilities that are cured with herbs and the like.
There is no logical reason for eye sigils to cost power in use. An eye sigil already costs resources to make, as far as I know, ghosting doesn't. Beyond that, it's easy to avoid being unghosted - don't go near people with eye sigils. Asking that a skill as powerful as ghosting not cost power is, well, not something I agree with.

Not to mention, only a few people will be fast enought to catch someone ghosting and respond with unwielding their shield/weapons, wielding the eye then throwing it. It's not hard, but alot of people, especially in combat will miss the person becoming a ghost and escaping the room before they can throw.
Murphy2005-03-02 13:35:31
I disagree, everytime I ghost its a decent enough EQ for someone to hit me with kether.
if I'm gonna ghost, accept that i'm gone. I know its frustrating for other people to be as good as guardians when it comes to fleeing.
And you can see me as a ghost in the room, if ghost was swapped with phase from achaea I'd also be happy

this was posted so they can fix a BUG Murphy, not for me to ask for them to stop ghosting or help us against it. This will help against those in illusions aswell if I understand correctly.
Murphy2005-03-02 13:53:38
Ok so you want to be able to throw eye sigil at ground why? we don't have phase here yet
Unknown2005-03-02 13:58:39
The illusion abilities Statue and Nature are described as "being out of phase", that is what the eye sigil help file refers to. Also, ghosting counts as out of phase. Eye sigils are supposed to pull ghosts, and those who are statued/natured out of phase when through on the ground.
