Pffff. Assume what you wish, Shiri... I know the truth. As far as the garden of Eden bit goes, it was actually a serpent who lured Eve into eating that apple- as far as this fictitious story goes. *peer* We all know that the serpent was controlled by a greedy male devil who wanted Eve for himself!

Meh, where am I going with this? Heh

God, don't start quoting 'The Da Vinci Vode'. Seriously, I read the back of the book and vomited. People act like it's the new Quran, IT'S A LOAD OF CRAP. It plays on religious stories to try and get people to associate with it, and throws in 'believable' storylines so it can get top spot in every airport bookshop.

"The Da Vinci Code" is worse then any crap Michael Moore has spouted.

I like the idea of Lucifer being sexless (like in the Passion, no I don't approve of that film).
Daganev2005-03-06 18:55:37
The snake was male, the snake was the reason anybody ate the fruit that was most definitly NOT an apple.

Besides, it was Adam who told eve that you can't "touch" the tree, whereas G-d told Adam you can't eat from it. If Adam wasn't an overbearing untrusting husband Eve never would have fallen for the snake's tricks. tongue.gif

Lucifer is a woman.

How else would we get the phrase, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."

Plus, Lucifer is also a star, the Morning Star to be exact.
Daganev2005-03-06 18:58:26
The sex of an angel is determined by its gramatical structure, nothing else. I don't know the proper name for lucipher so I couldn't tell you if it was male or female.
Manjanaia2005-03-06 18:59:13
I don't believe the da Vinci Code, but I've seen other things implying the Mary Magdalene had a higher status than the disciples made out.

EDIT: The guy who wrote the book said it was censor.gif anyway. He took a bunch of vague theories and ideas and invented links. The links aren't real. And what's wrong with Michael Moore?

EDIT: Watch your language. ~Shiri~
Sorry Shiri

I don't think details like that matter. If it was supposed to be interpreted as a message about women being weak and deceitful, it wouldn't have survived so many millennia.

That's a bible story that I can accept and live with. Much thanks!

And the story of the three little pigs is what? Fact because it survived?

All you have to do is open the book and read the story. The words of the story have not changed. Look at the quotes of Adam, G-d, the snake and Chava(real name of Eve)

Its very clear that Eve was tricked into thinking that G-d had lied because she did not know that G-d said don't "eat" not "don't touch." Besides, what kind of real man runs away and tries to hide from G-d? Real men stand up to God and say "Yeah, I ate the fruit what of it?, gonna smite half the world's population for one fruit!?... Oh and by the way.. it tasted awfull, you couldn't make an apply if betty crocker had a apple mix!"

My whole point is that things like what Eve's 'real' name was is irrelevant. I don't think it's an appopriate subject to make a joke out of, either, to be honest.
Shiri2005-03-06 19:26:56
Yeees. Just leave it alone. sleep.gif

Why are the detail's of G-d's word irrelevant yet at the same time not an approtiate subject to make a joke out of?

Its the subject matter of many jokes and political slogans.

If the details don't matter, than no lesson can be learned from the story. The details is what makes up the story, any story.

One set of details leads to degredation of women, another set of details leads to respect and understanding of the importance of being carefull with laws and what you say to people, and keeps women in their eleveated place of being the second to last thing created. (the later its created the more spiritual it is.)

Way to hijack this thread into oblivion.

Anyways, Elaria ran for Prince several times.

Annabelle tried also. *cough*

There haven't been all that many elections, and more men ran in each city than women.

A simple matter of statistics.
Bricriu2005-03-06 22:45:31
Jeez....I suppose no one else believes in the story of Adam and STeve.

Otherwise, you see, the smart ladies don't want head of a commune/city. We prefer to rule from the sidelines - less repurcussions that way. biggrin.gif
Gwylifar2005-03-07 02:12:45
I'd just like to hijack this hijack for a moment to say, I'm sorry for getting Buho started on talking in pseudocode. I will publicly accept a flogging of up to 32 lashes for this grievous mistake and I promise it will not happen again.

You may now return to your pointless gender wars.

I don't believe that any woman has run for Seneschal. If one were to, I'm sure that she'd win or gain a vast number of votes.

Bau's not a woman?
