That's nothing. In the span of TWO days Aris gets removed from Order and Guild, because Fsking Yuniko kicked the hell out of him any time he left her manse.
Gregori enemied him to the Serenwilde for killing Munsia...on the PEAK.
Aaaand Celest is full of former Magnagorans.
Roleplay be damned!

Locke is in FF9. One of the major towns, old man walking around talking about the old days and saving the world. Named Locke.
Revan2005-03-10 21:01:43
Find out which town. Is it the perpetual night time town?
Shiri2005-03-10 21:04:00
Y'mean Treno? Sounds more like a Lindblum thing. *seems to vaguely remember now* Could be wrong of course.
Revan2005-03-10 21:06:06
Locke seems much more like a Treno type of guy. Lindblum wouldn't be his hangout. Think Zozo, people! ZOZO!!!!
Unknown2005-03-10 21:08:27
Nah, it can't be THAT Locke.
-wrong world, FF 6 is more of a steam-fantasy while FF 9 is (from what I've heard) an almost pure fantasy world
(ah, and let's not forget that FF6's world was drained of magic, if it was the same thing in FF9 - in your face Vivi! fight with your puny dagger or staff or what do you have, but no ultimas for you)
-the whole thing of Locke being old somehow doesn't fit in my mind
-where would Celes be then?

You're all wrong, dudes. Everything in the FF series suggests that FF1 (the original) was, chronologically, the last.
Think about it. Excluding XI, of course. Espers. FF1-4, they're spirits, one calls them from beyond. FF5, same thing, they're spirits. Although 5 is really wierd. 6, they were alive, and they all die, and their remains (magacite) is used. 7, alive. 8, alive. 9, alive.
Ooor, look at technology. X - VII it's very advanced (space ships, etc) in 6, world of ruin comes and it's all destroyed. Revert to medieval style. 5, things are still kinna all broken up, some people (fire) are trying REALLY hard to use technology. The rest are harvesting the power from the crystals for the same reasons, although not as hungrily. 4 is all medieval, where space ships run off the power of a crystal, and air ships are very hard to come by (a fleet consisted of 4-6). 3, ghetto. 2, ghetto. 1, ghetto. (I never could play them long enough to keep my attention.)
See? Reverse. So that Locke is not the same Locke as one would find in FF6, unless it's more of an easter egg.

I've read this theory a long time ago at nuklearpower.com.
There were many logical arguments against it, but I'm too lazy to quote them.

Mm, yay 8-bit Theatre. The arguements vs it are all conjucture, and extremely circumstantial, if my memory serves.
Nyla2005-03-10 22:21:42
Anyone know where I can buy FF9 (thats not the one qith squall is it? I hate that one) I cant find it anywhere
Unknown2005-03-10 22:24:17
Nope, Squall is in FF8.
Wish I could find FF 9 somewhere though. Especially the non-existant PC version.

Heh. Poor thing.
Erion2005-03-10 22:33:38
Although, FF9 is baaaad. I mean, the homoeroticness kept me playing until the very, very end. But to get Excalibur-2, you need to get to the end within, what, 12 hours? Stupid. Ruins the purpouse of enjoying the game.
Revan2005-03-10 22:37:01
Thats why getting excalibur 2 is suggested for people who have played the game over and over, who have enjoyed it and who wish to challenge themselves. Hell, I beat Ozma at lvl 1! THAT was a challenge. And FF9 is the best post-SNES final fantasy made so far (though X is arguably better). And if ANY of you say FF7, you suck and deserve to be flamed into the 10th pit of Hell.
Erion2005-03-10 22:39:08
No. Post-SNES, it was VIII. Because Squall x Seifer was the A) most obvious and hottest yaoi pairing EVER IN EXISTANCE. Followed closely by Zidane/Kuja.
Nyla2005-03-10 22:40:42
post snes
worst
tie between x-2 and 8

Revan2005-03-10 22:45:28
Ok... a) sick Yaoi fanfic dreams do not make a great game... 2) 8 was a horrible horrible game. Ask any -real- ff buff. c) X-2 was STUPID, MEANINGLESS, IDIOTIC USELESS POINTLESS AND A DISGRACE to the wonderful game that ffX was.
Unknown2005-03-10 22:46:45
Erion. No.
Anyway, teh best gamez evar.
1. Chrono Trigger.
2. Final Fantasy III.
3. Final Fantasy VII.
4. Final Fantasy II.
VIII was horrible, and IX was... bearable.

Well, I said I considered it the best because I saw the very angry sexual love affair between Squall and Seifer. Or Seifer and Zell.
Anyway, no. Chrono Trigger is, by far, the best RPG ever, followed closely by FF6.
And, you're probably right. FFVIII is not as good as FFIX. But I'm glued to the mental images of angry sex. So I stick with VIII.
And I refuse to play X and X-2. X-2 because NO FF game should have an OBVIOUS sequal. And X because I don't have a PS2. But also because it sounds stupid.

3. FFX
4. FF4 (2 if you're a stupid american)
5. FF9
6. FF5
7. FFTac
8. FF7
9. FF8
