Are you referring to the the fact that the responses are accompanied by a prompt, or are you referring to the response coming at the end of the prompt?

Coming at the end of the prompt.
Laysus2005-03-07 22:40:22
I noticed that same problem. AL client has no local echo when you have the command window seperate from the main rather than typing in direct at the prompt, and the new way gave me a headache trying to make sure it all worked.

edit: this is what it's like now sad.gif

Read my previous (editted) post. I'm almost entirely positive that's it. Look over your settings/properties/options and such, make sure something didn't get checked or unchecked accidentally.

You did say it was Lusternia-specific, though. Hrm.

Are You folks looking into the issue about the JAVA aliases/triggers too? :/ *hope*

When I logged on and found all of my Macros gone, I almost just wanted to stop playing. I HATE doing things over again, even something like that where I only had about 150+ commands and such. I just know if I try to redo them I'll be in the middle of combat and suddenly realize I forgot to put something back when I hit a Macro wacko.gif

Narsrim2005-03-07 22:49:22
Almighty Roark, we beseech yee! Come forth and cast out our prompt woes.
Shiri2005-03-07 22:50:43
Yeah I know what you mean. Roark hasn't let us down yet though, I'm sure he'll put them ALL back to normal. whistling.gif
Terenas2005-03-07 22:51:10
Well, at least you're only getting one line of text from Lusternia instead of 2 now! tongue.gif

Anyway, I really don't understand the major problems with this though, even if you are triggering to capture your prompt, doesn't your clients have the option to finish the capture after the dash? huh.gif

On extremely long lines of test, it gets all screwed up because it looks something like this:

-part of the message
rest of message

Thus, it spreads it over two lines which completely makes my system go fubar.

Just to recap the problem here is my alias clot on Aetolia:

H:4073 M:3380 E:100% B:45%
You do not bleed my friend.
H:4073 M:3380 E:100% B:45%
You do not bleed my friend.
H:4073 M:3380 E:100% B:45%
You do not bleed my friend.
H:4073 M:3380 E:100% B:45%
You do not bleed my friend.
H:4073 M:3380 E:100% B:45%
You do not bleed my friend.

On Lusternia:

3745h, 2794m, 3020e, 10p ex-You do not bleed my friend.
3745h, 2794m, 3020e, 10p ex-You do not bleed my friend.
3745h, 2794m, 3020e, 10p ex-You do not bleed my friend.

Sylphas2005-03-07 22:53:25
He said the problem wasn't fixing triggers, but all the spam. Reading a line connected to your prompt is significantly harder to do than if it's a seperate line.

rolleyes.gif Suuuure. He sent me a message saying he didn't handle Java and that I should contact support@lusternia.com. (for those of you who missed my post on it in the Mechanics section)

The few times I've tried to use AL Client I get the same awry behavior with the prompts, however with zMud everything seems to work just fine.
Erion2005-03-08 02:12:18
Yep, zMUD's working fine.

All hail the mighty Zugg Soft.
Roark2005-03-08 02:46:00
Java client problems should be resolved now. For your prompt, look into CONFIG PROMPT ADD LINEBREAK. This has been around for a while with the intent of accomodating both those who use local echo and those who do not. It has always been that way here, even before the recent Rapture alleged upgrade.
Genos2005-03-08 02:48:32
Roark, and the Lusternia staff, You guys are amazing, all my triggers and macros and shiny aliases are back! Now I can sleep soundly tonight tongue.gif

*grin* so is tinyfugue.

ok, so i'm an evil wench. let me pull out tcpdump and checketh the TCP streams.

I send to lusternia, all in one hit:

clot\\r\\nclot\\r\\nclot\\r\\nclot\\r\\n (thats sending 4 clots in one hit, making sure that
its written as one nice big packet containing four lines to lusternia.)

I receive:

You do not bleed my friend.<0x0d 0x0a> ansi color prompt stuff ex- <0xff 0xef>

i send:

i receive:

You do not bleed my friend.<0x0d 0x0a> ansi colour prompt stuff ex- <0xff 0xef>
You do not bleed my friend.<0x0d 0x0a> ansi colour prompt stuff ex- <0xff 0xef>
.. etc

note how there's no carriage return and/or line feed sent before the clot message.

Now, achaea is running the same version of rapture, but aetolia isn't. I head over to aetolia and play around a bit.

I send: outc moss outc moss outc moss

I receive:

You remove 1 irid moss ...<0x0d><0x0a> ansi prompt stuff ex- <0xff 0xef>
<0x0d 0x0a> Your meaning eludes me (must've screwed up here..)

Now, notice how the beginning of the line immediately following the prompt has a newline?

That is what I believe is messing up some clients. smile.gif

Hope this helps! (viva le tinyfugue!)

Now: question of mine. 0xff is the telnet escape command. What the heck is 0xef? Its the end of record option, as far as I can tell. I haven't worked on MUD engine-y stuff in a Long Time and so I don't know the correct(ish) way of dealing with prompts and stuff, I just found that command interesting. None of my dumps seem to show a GA command appearing at any place during the conversation but I didn't dump the whole thing from start to finish and its possible the client asked Rapture to suppress them. I bring it up only because others talk about the Go Ahead command floating about and yet I haven't seen it.
