Cactus people, basically. Thorny, sleep standing up. Large, strong.
Some benefit from sunlight.
Some benefit from sunlight.

A cacti race?????
That sounds crazy, but the more I think about it, the more it sounds like a version of dryad. I really can't see them being very playable, though.

How about instead of bleeding blood they spurt water?
Regen health from sunlight level 2.
Regen mana in desert environment level 1.
ABILITY reaching level 50: THORN REND. Shoots Thorns hitting everyone in the room with chances of impale.

Permanent effect similar to blessing of Justice. No, it's not the quills, but rather the concept of the quills evolved a bit further.
I like the idea of a thorn spray, but forget the impale. That's too huge.

If it was weak. Thornspray does the same thing in Achaea, and it's almost trans Woodlore. A racial ability shouldn't be that strong.
Richter2005-03-09 21:55:25
Ooh, ooh, and an ability called 9999 needles, that does 9999 damage.
Wait. Cactus people. Needles with large amounts of damage. Any final fantasy fans? *twiddle*

Cacactae, not cactaur.
Ceres2005-03-09 22:14:07
It's an awesome idea.

Gah, it was only 1000 Needles in pre-FF7 games, you, you... modern kids! *waves his cane angrily*
Shiri2005-03-09 22:29:16
Yeah, but everything's hp got titan buffs in later FF games. I mean for heck's sake Nemesis was 10Mhp. >_<
Unknown2005-03-09 22:38:16
Bah! Back to FF1, where Chaos (main boss) had 2000 hp.
Terenas2005-03-09 22:52:09
Can we make the Cacatae vulnerable to fire too?
Richter2005-03-09 23:25:32
I've played the old ones, where it was 1000. FFX had a 99,999 though... ticked me off.

An interesting idea, buuut no no no.
How about we get ANY volcano and some more desert environments for the Dracnari?

Cacactae can take damage in fire or volcano environments, level 2!
Drago2005-03-10 07:37:52
I read Cacactae, saw the first post, thought Cactaur.

I like you, FF1 was the best one of them all. FF7 really killed the whole series. 9 brought some home, 10....don't know spend over 400 hours just playing blitz ball.

Disagree: 7 was the best. "Killed" the series because no other could come close to measuring up.
Agree: Also spent much time playing blitz ball. In fact, didn't bother finishing the game after getting all the summons. Blitzball was cooool.
In fact, maybe I'll go buy the $19 favorites edition just to play blitzball.
