Having been cursed, I can tell you that, unless it has been changed (which I highly doubt), one is most definitely informed upon being cursed. A line will appear to you if you are logged in, or a message will be sent if you are out of the realm.

Likely you were in the realm when you were cursed and the message flew right by. But it did tell you.

I've been cursed 4 or 5 times now and never once got a message while in realm, but I did get a message while out of realm for one of them.

Please, please, PLEASE let us see who does this stuff. A great argument that curses wouldn't be overused was that the recipient could just kill the curser again, as they lose suspect. However, you get no message, and KARMA doesn't show with the curse who inflicted it.
