That is one of the aspects of it.

Lusternia also has enforced RP, craft design, and non-violent means for gaining experience. Claiming that Lusternia is "built around killing people" is inaccurate and misleading. It's a business that has been built to appeal to a larger audience because that's how businesses survive. As such it has many aspects and diverse paths that are all equally valid and important to the atmosphere being created.

Those who wish to kill other players are not the sole target audience.

Lusternia does -not- have enforced RP, it is -encouraged- RP. http://www.topmudsites.com/cgi-bin/dbman/d...ame=lusterniadb

While there are other aspects of the game, the large majority of game mechanics are built around player killing. All guild skillsets are there for pk, most of the common skills are also for pk, the only exceptions are influence and trade skills. Lusternia is built around killing people, look at the village system, the planes, the quests that hurt other parties, its all there to spur conflict.

...villages were originally meant to be won or lost by (city) influencing skills...it was only due to the bloodthirsty players that it got changed.

But that's precisely what happened in the case you started this thread whining about. So I guess you have withdrawn your complaints and thus this entire thread, right?

There are some bugs in the Karma system.  Instance, I'm raiding Ackleberry.  You defend, I kill you, I get suspect.  This is a bug.  Cursing off that is stupid.  But if Torak hunted you down outside territory, then I've no pity for him.

Thank you, Erion. Just to say again, if you killed me during a raid, I wouldn't curse you. Even if you started the raid while I was there picking flowers. smile.gif

I meant Estelbar. I was tired, and just spent the previous like four hours under the Lusternian version of the Spanish Inquisition. Minus the torture, I had a conversation about biscuits with a group of very unhumorous people.
