I'll take the blame for this. As Roark will tell you, sometimes I have an idea in my mind on how something should work but don't explain it well enough to others.

happy.gif You still are blaming me for your typo, though! ohmy.gif! Nyaha.

You know we love you and your guys' effort. smile.gif

I like the way this works now.  Are we talking about changing it so that someone enters enemy territory and starts killing loyal mobiles, then the DEFENDERS have to declare and potentially gain bully status? Doesn't it open up a host of problems more than the way it is now?
71852

No. Defenders will never get suspect and have no need to declare if they kill an enemy in enemy territory. However, if they do attack an enemy first, then that enemy won't need to declare and will not get suspect if they kill you (which only seems fair to me--you should be able to defend yourself without getting suspect).

Actually I was talking about the knight guilds - I didn't know the particulars about Hartstone/Moondancers but I assumed they had a way at least to get upto Ethereal in their guildskills.

Everyone can get up to Ethereal and Elemental planes. Even disregarding the player-created gates, everyone can use the Ravenwood tree and then the two archways.

From there, everyone of the two cities can go up to their own cosmic plane, and up to astral through their own nexus. This includes knights.

Serenwilders cannot go past Elemental unless they have the near-trans Nexus skill in planar, because they then have to use city nexii. That means that only Serenwilders are potentially locked out of the higher planes unless they have a lot of money/credits.

Hooray for Estarra! Thank you, I'm rather relieved to find its a bug.
Erion2005-03-13 00:22:42
Knight classes, Elryn, have to use the near-trans Nexus skill in planar, because they still have to use the city nexus, and do not have the ability low in their novice-gained skills (cosmicgate in cosmic, and elemgate in elementalism).

Which is why I wanted to put a cosmicgate on Water to Celestia, and then from Celestia to Astral, so any Serenwilder could get to Astral. But nooo, Rhysus says no. Why exactly do we allow them a rift to Ethereal again? I should just put one up anyway. tongue.gif

Me too! happy.gif I got suspect for killing Elryn while raiding Rockholm last night, and then these changes today made me twitch compulsively.

Because then even I could raid Celestia, and get right back out as soon as they get there. tongue.gif
Elryn2005-03-13 00:26:15
Oh, ok Erion. I thought it worked differently, that as long as you have cosmicgate you could still use your own nexus even if a knight. But apparently not. Oh well, knights and Serenwilders then.

And don't worry, I wouldn't curse without a good cause. I mean, come on, I die all the time. tongue.gif
Shiri2005-03-13 00:27:04
Not our problem, Erion. (Pff. Who was the champion at the time? I remember Rhysus saying he had to ask the general, it's probably Shamarah's fault. tongue.gif)

And...wait, what Erion? Cosmicgate and Elemgate are really low planar! Before teleport! What are you talking about? :/ You can't skip up from Prime without cosmicgate in Cosmic and elemgate in Elementalism, but you can still do it from adjacent planes (re: Ethereal.)
Estarra2005-03-13 00:27:35
Don't forget there's a shortcut to the elemental planes too and you don't even need a skill in planar--though its rather difficult to get to.
Shiri2005-03-13 00:29:38
Exactly. biggrin.gif (Dangit. You ninja'd my edit, Estarra.)

Refering to the Gate skill in Cosmic, and the Gate skill in Elementalism.

From ab cosmic:

"Gate Open up planar gates to or from the cosmic planes."

Syntax: TRANSVERSE
You can travel to or from the cosmic realms from any planar gate.

Meaning, I stand at meg, transverse cosmic, go right to Nil. Geos can go to Earth. From Nil, I can transverse astral, or geos from Earth transverse astral. See? Knights don't have either, thus screwed.

Go ahead. Suit yourself and go make cosmigates from Earth to Nil and from Water to Celestia. You would be a hero if you did. ninja.gif

What is more important to have your fellow communemates happy, or making sure international relations remain solid? tongue.gif
Shiri2005-03-13 00:33:52
*think* But...I remember when I was an Aquamancer, I could go to Celestia by just transversing from Water. So, if a knight with their nexus power goes to Water, couldn't they just go to Celestia that way? Did they change that? :/

To the elemental planes? No planar skill? I'm sure I've heard of them, and I'm just stupid.
Elryn2005-03-13 00:35:15
I imagine this is going to be rather unpopular, but could we make it so that killing a mobile loyal to an organization in enemy territory is treated as an act of aggression to all citizens? My problem with this change is that the sequence of events

Enemy kills guard
Citizen defends and attacks Enemy
Enemy kills citizen

Doesn't seem to me like Enemy should be exempt from suspect on the defender. The enemy was the one who initiated the battle.

Maybe the question to ask is, would your fellow communemates be happy if international relations (with Celest) break down? biggrin.gif

My question is why would anyone get suspect? You can defend yourself and kill the aggressor without gaining suspect even if you are in enemy territory (as long as you don't initiate the attack).
71841

I've gained suspect...
Shiri2005-03-13 00:35:34
I could only ASSUME Estarra meant "without Nexus in planar" *squint* I sure can't think of any more, unless she was referring to the Mage one, which obviously doesn't apply to anyone.
