Intellegence or not?

As Malicia wrote, tells, says, and shouts if taken in an RP sense are heard, not read. How do you tell the difference between intelligence and intellegence if you 'heard' it? Bricriu, Llexyn if you are making fun of Hinjama for being a poor god for his grammar, then you two are bad RPers who can't separate IC from OOC. And I'm not even going to go in how pathetic it is if you think that making fun of other's speaking abilities is right.

I don't recall Bricriu shouting a single thing about his speech/spelling. However, on forums, I am allowed to comment about it as I please, since forums are OOC and SEPERATE from the game.

Or, can you not understand that? *pity*

PS. For being so apt to defend Him, you should remember His name is Hajamin.

someone should close this thread... seriously guys...

its not just nothing. The gods arent suppose to be slack and are supposedly held to a higher standard. It comes in the job description. On the other hand this whole topic is blown out of proportion. Yes its not nothing but its not something we should be going bald over...

*scolds everybody*
Bricriu2005-03-14 06:00:52
Sulk.

Alger, stop being the voice of reason, Dammit. You're going to drive me off to do something like, homework. *shudder*
Erion2005-03-14 06:04:14
But, but, *I* use a period. A PERIOD. A little dot. It's also a euphimism for the crap women go through once a month. (Something else I laugh at, because I am fortune enough to have a healthy set of male genitalia, and women are not!)

Come on. Even Shiro uses them, occasionally. And I'm proud of him for it. But, seriously. He's a divine.

If it is so OOC and SEPARATE from the game, why did Llexyn feel a need to post her private conversations with him in order to mock his grammar? And did I say that you shout any such thing, I was merely pointing out your consistent attempts at justifying your and Llexyn's attempts at mocking a god in his first day to the game.

P.S.- I'm defending what I consider is proper and not approriate actions.

And for my OWN amusement, my previous posts about de-crutching vets and shoving gimps down stairs were all extreme amounts of sarcasm. I ignore them, unless it's something disturbing like missing limbs, then I just avoid them.
Alger2005-03-14 06:09:04
okay no homework... lets talk about how hajamin kept screwing my fight with terenas! twice he did it! 2 which is 2 more than 0 which is the supposed number! hmph... your shrines are dust i tell you! dust!

What the hell?

The Divine make a few spelling mistakes and they are now unfit to hold their positions, or what? I recall seeing Fain make his share of errors, as well as Lisaera. They all screw up from time to time; I know I do, and I know all of you do as well.

Cut 'em some slack.
Llexyn2005-03-14 06:10:29
Fair enough to whoever said bringing the insults on grammar to this board. My post here was to be amusing, really. Nothing more.

On an IC note, it doesn't take much to check yourself before you speak. Even correcting yourself would be better than just letting others think you're naturally dumbfounded or something (and I'm not saying Hajamin is dumbfounded).

So if you're publicly chastised for speaking improperly and repeatedly ICly, and you fail to correct yourself, you deserve nothing less. The Divine ARE held to higher standards, whether anyone wants to admit it, or not.

It is sad when Divine have to be corrected in their speech and like I said, if it were corrected, it'd be a completely different situation.

I'm not a harsh person who makes fun of disabled people OOCly and Lusternia is a game. If you can't handle being made fun of ICly, regardless if you have an OOCly disability or not, you should reconsider playing muds. The point of playing is to have FUN. Once you start to stress over being chastised for things, OOCly true or not, you've lost your ability to enjoy it.
Erion2005-03-14 06:12:18
There is a difference, Guido, between a couple spelling errors and an obvious, blatant refusal to use punctuation, proper grammar, etc.

So instead of making fun of someone IC, you made fun of someone's grammar that occured IC, OOC?
Erion2005-03-14 06:14:04
Yea. Like how I make fun of you because, ICly, you don't have any hair!

Freak.

What he said. And what Terenas said. And Singollo..and hell, what Alger said too! I'm ready to let it go. It's just not cool when you see someone starting a post in forums to mock someone. Just gets everyone riled, I suppose.
Unknown2005-03-14 06:14:28
I sat in His Fulcrux and listened to him speak for a good hour or so. I saw no blatant misuses of puctuation, and no rampant spelling errors.

In fact, I saw V-whatever use the "... " correctly multiple times, which has earned her my neverending love. wub.gif
Bricriu2005-03-14 06:15:42
Make up your mind, Terenas. First it's wrong to complain about something Ic, but it's wrong to complain about that IC thing oocly, too?

Oh dear. People better never complain about skills, or another players actions like jumping them or refusing service to them, or about huge bugs or something obviously unbalanced. We better not bug it IC, either.

What a wonderful world we will have, when we are not all pushing each other to strive for MORE.
Daganev2005-03-14 06:16:08
Can we all be honest here?

There are certain people who ALWAYS blame the divine for things they don't like. They constantly, ICly atleast badmouth the "admins" and the "divine" for any slight percieved "unfairness" (9 times out of 10 it is not unfairness)

Those same people, discover that there are two new gods, and it appears to them that the gods are connected to eachother, and are associated with Celest and Serenwilde. They assume this means more bad stuff happening to Magnagora from the Admin's perspective. Because of this irrational approach, they relapse into self destructive behavior and ensure that such opinions they held will be percieved as being true by the populus. However, they fail to realize that populus is only their own friends and everyone else thinks they look like petty morons.

This has nothing to do with gramar or ideals. This is only becuase the new gods don't have the word Taint in thier title.

I hope all the admins and divine recognize this to be true, and try thier best to not base future activities on these people, because its really going to ruin the game for the rest of the rational people.

Thank you.
Bricriu2005-03-14 06:17:54
I think we are being perfectly rational, and yes, reasonable, in demanding that the Divine are held to a higher standard, and need to stick to that standard. Taint, Light, OR Foresty.
Daganev2005-03-14 06:18:48
Spelling is not a standard.

Should they spell colour or color?

Further, I would wager that if said gods were Tainted you would not be posting what you are posting.

I'm sure you will deny it, but the "mocking" that I see all to often is very onesided.
Malicia2005-03-14 06:19:58
Bricriu, Llexyn...give it up. Honestly. You too, Erion.

Uh, you confused me there. huh.gif

Complaining things that happened IC on the forums is something that we all do, nothing wrong with that. Making fun of someone's grammar ingame, then going to the forum and further posting it to demonstrate a god's inability to speak properly, not ok. Seriously, what was the point of this thread? To show that the new god can't use grammar properly and that Llexyn has a good grasp of the English language or that there are people that are supporting her in this sad attempt? Congratulations to her and those that supported her then.
