I miss the ease of a wardancer's disembowel and their insane ability to do huge amounts of damage..
*blade fleche bob*
*wait*
*disembowel bob*
*blade strike bob with a nasty damage broadsword with sensitivty*
*blade strike bob with a nasty damage broadsword with sensitivty*
*suicide drop bob*
*get balance back on arms and arc*
*Bob takes 2000+ damage*
Or the better version
*blade spin bob with sensitivityx2*
*as the second attack hits, blade strike sensitivity, blade strike paralysis, splitleap*
To do 2000+ damage faster.
What? I can miss being able to do nice amounts of damage and having the ability to beat herb balance.
I miss toxins (poisions) actually meaning something.
I don't miss 250+damage kai chokes though.
Malicia2005-03-15 16:07:59
It was quite possible to pull off disembowel in Achaea. Dsl with prefarar (sensitivity-stripped deaf) battlecry/arc-curare (which stuns and paralyses) impale and disembowel for a nice 2k damage. You could also web/arc-aconite (stupidity) and go for it. Disembowel did nothing to knights/apostates with putre, however.
Alger2005-03-15 16:29:06
my impale/dsb was more of a falcon hit + leg break double delph + meteor + hugulaz + impale then dsb... heh i was a troll though

I've been playing IRE for quite sometime now but yeah i didnt start off here and quite honestly im starting to miss when mobs would rift to me, hit me with slow and web.Â
Also miss elite global quests... those things that are pretty much a mystery and takes a really long time to solve and requires you to go everywhere to do them. Not time like it takes ages of repetative work or because you have to wait so and so days. Time because its that hard to figure out. Like you have to rack your brains out to solve them. Those ones that make 9/10 of the ones who try to solve them go screw that I'm stumped, its too hard.
Also miss taskmaster type quests. Where questers gather in some room waiting for some dude to give them a stupid quest which has them running around and doing things then come back for a small reward and wait again.

Said mobs were for the archons (equivalent of dragon, except easier to get to) only though.
Global are about the same as honours quests, or would be if you had to go to a few more places and there weren't so many people willing to give out the answers.
And the taskmaster type quests are stupid Nothing more dumb than
1) visit x area
2) kill x mob (which might be dead, in which case, happy waiting for repop)
3) visit x mob (same as above)
4) get x item (which might also be gone because someone got it already, might not even appear on next repop, in which case, happy waiting again)
Especially if you have completed every other part, then have to wait multiple repops, and then run out of time for the quest. (Sounds kinda like raising the Crow you think?)
I very much prefer Lusternia's quest system. It might be "kill x mob and bring me the corpse", but at least the 'quest masters' (who also give a small reward) are alive most of the time, and I don't have to wait endlessly for repops.

I miss all my Occultist ents.
Summer2005-03-15 17:42:32
I miss warp and lifevision. I know we have the equivalent of warp here, but not much point when they won't stay up.
Shiri2005-03-15 17:47:53
(Wasn't warp just the damage thing? *confused* Blast and stuff seems stronger anyway. Testing on rats, that is. )
I WOULD miss track, but I have my lovely lovely teleport. And flow from ANYWHERE in the forest.
Hm, I could do with incinerate though.
EDIT: Ooh, she explained she meant WORM warp. Not like, occie warp. Should've known.

I miss being able to triple delph with backstab/dstab combined, or do any combination of three venoms, really.

Aiiiee. You were one of those dirty occies. I definitely do not miss them.

Ironically I miss my Sentinel spear skills, which didn't seem that important at the time, but they sure seem nice in hindsight.

You would be surprised how many decent fighters I was able to disembowel, why because of my falcon. It wasnt that hard to impale people, eventually my falcon would knock them off balance at a opportune time. Tahm also had a decent tactic of impaling though, its effectiveness has lessened over the years, because of changes to the Wardancers.
Asarnil2005-03-15 22:25:50
I miss being able to double AXK and chuck in a mind command. Actually I miss being a monk from any of the realms - they are the class I naturally gravitate towards and normally end up with at least one character in.
Unknown2005-03-15 22:53:36
I really miss my bow. As a warrior, I have no real ranged alternative, unlike my enemies who always use the tactics of sitting just outside of a village and firing away. I'm forced to either wait for them to come to me (usually through a misstep) or risk giving someone suspect on me or dying to a large group.
I wouldn't mind doing less damage if I could have a cool little pet with some fun (and passive!) abilities.

Kaervas was an Indorani, not an Occultist
He didn't have amazing skills, like transmog.

summer no dear... those mobs werent archon only you really needed to go on more runs. But master archon hunters were crazy ass stuff... dragons in achaea would have cried... imagine a mob running after you all over the whole map, with the capability of killing you, along with the rest of the village you are in, in 2-3 rounds. quake defence strip, quake stalagmites falling on your head... everybody in the area - *ruuuuuuuuuuun* die die die... artic winds blow *everybody in the room - die*... then you need around 7-8 dragons to even have a chance of denting it... eirus having too much fun with them now... hmph
no honour quest i've seen in IRE has ever come close to raymantus or stargazer or armageddon.
i did say the task master quests were stupid. But thats the whole point... mind numbing quest request quest complete quest request quest complete. I have a different opinion on the quests though... i prefer those because at least those arent the same quests you do hour after hour after hour after hour. You get a bit of randomness by picking from a pool no routined route you just run around doing... admit sum you're just azy

SCOUT in TRAILBLAZING, oh and the ability to auotmatically see Hidden exits, also in TRAILBLAZING... and ummm TRAILBLAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
Alger2005-03-16 07:27:08
oh man runs... i miss doing runs too... like going out to get something with a party and you're there working on it for a couple of hours hoping you get good stash in the end... then again eq here doesnt mean much. Closest thing here would be raids and no reward in the end just a lot of insults and maybe a pat on the back which is like a couple mins work.

Oh yeah, the eq mobs. Not much call for a level 90+ on a run Do they teleport to you though? Plus the player combat here is so much harder and complex for a non-scripter (or so it seems to me).
When you've stayed in class 1 for pretty much forever like I did, the quest pool really isn't all that big. Day after day of the same stupid quests. I could get the same effect by going after rockeaters then glomdoring trees then chickens, minus the frustration of having to wait for repops unless I haven't got anything better to do.
celahir2005-03-16 10:03:02
Having the thrill of proper hunting would be cool. Where say theres a deer that will gallop as far away as possible if you attack it so you have to stealth up to it the jump it making sure you kill it straight away.
Creatures that aren't agro but hunt you. Say your walking through Glomdoring and theres a tainted beast stalking you waiting for the perfect time to jump you.
