To say things have a 'Bop' feel IS totally fair in my mind. Someone said Estarra has a signature way of writing things and it does carry over here. I find myself as having a very visual imagination so this unique style she possesses strikes me alot harder.
Putting it in the con category is not an insult in my eyes. Just a piece of constructive critism the builder(s) may want to look at. After all, a MUD is a give and take between the creater's ideas and what the general populace enjoys. If I'm the only one to ever say this, she's more the welcome to toss it into the trash pile. I got tougher skin then to get offended.

Actually Jaret, I agree with you about Estarra's writing style.
I lurve it personally, which is how I find myself so addicted to this game, compared to Achaea, this is so much of a more creative, not only system, but dynamic world, since the Divine interact so much.
When compared to such a static, and derivated thing as Achaea, and Aetolia, they've all boiled down to their base elements, no creativity, no life, just whinge, hax, nerf, repeat, I found there was no dynamic movement, hence, I didn't find myself as captured in the game world.

Well, as Roark said, what were you, and what do you want out of a game?
I find Lusternia to have it all, myself. Roleplay, fighting. I, personally, find Magnagora has some of the DEEPEST roleplaying,

Just a little hijack here. Erion, I wanted to say that this post raised my respect for you more than I expected. I was expecting a frothing whinge about the other orgs, but you neatly avoided it and offered a more balanced view than I thought you could. Thanks for writing it and helping me see that side of you.
Erion2005-03-16 16:36:16
Heh. I normally am not so one-sided, close-minded. I just get irritated with certain characters in each organization. You should hear me behind closed doors about characters like Lucy and Nikua.

It irritates me when guilds try to force policies like the Moondancers are (the whole anti-taint thing). I know, it makes sense ICly. It just bothers me, as a player.  Oh well!

I can kinda see this, and kinda not get it. I know that doesn't make a lotta sense. I'll try to keep from writing one of my usual tomes to explain, though.
One of the problems I've seen in other IRE realms is many of the guilds lack any really well defined existence. They become bloated with people who are unwilling to make any difficult choices or are too concerned about "upsetting" people.
Right now I feel like there's a huge OOC wave running through the Moondancers that Brylle's trying to stand against. I, the player, hate racism. In the real world it's stupid, based on nothing but skin colour. But in Lusternia there are valid reasons why one would be racist. The races are actually different. They have different founding histories, different goals, etc. But people in the Moondancers keep hanging onto this OOC idea of race not mattering and one not being blamed for one's birth. The argument makes no sense in the face of the facts available in the realm.
Brylle's trying to stand against the Viscanti entering the guild right now based on this reality about races. Viscanti have tainted blood. This is an historical, biological fact of the realm. So Brylle has a really hard time imagining anyone who is seriously called by Mother Moon refusing to cleanse that taint out of their blood before calling some fae or bonding with the Moon spirit. People can reincarnate, and cleanse themselves, so an individual *has a choice* about their race. This isn't some OOC construct, it's part of reality in Lusternia. Hence, Brylle's attitude that race IS a matter of choice as much as it is an accident of birth.
Anyway, the point is just, I think a lot of people don't want to face making a difficult call like "No, Viscanti can't be in the Moondancers" because of the the problems of racism in the real world. But it makes sense from an IC perspective that we'd wish to limit how close taint is allowed to get to the nature spirits, specifically the fae and Mother Moon, whom we serve.
I find this fun and fascinating from a moral exploration perspective. I just wish I felt like more people did, too.

We're not always snippy, y'know!
We can have mature moments. We just choose to have them pop in out of the blue to suprise you all.

Yeah, I saw the "Hajimin" topic and was like "oh, no, whines about city being set on fire", and saw a congrats, which was surprising.
EDIT: Although actually, Brylle, I think the "reincarnation" is just an IC reason for an essentially OOC action - changing race because you got it wrong in the intro. It's not really fair, in my opinion, to say that people should have to do it to get into a guild.

We enjoy good rp.
Typo's aside, that was much more interesting than a silly zapping, and upped my respect for Hajamin by bounds. Granted, we always have to give the new Divine a semi-hard time, but this is rather enjoyable.
My only complaint was not waiting two extra hours so I could see HIS end of the hard work.

Nah. I was irritated at first, but then I realized that it was all in good fun. I'm glad to see he's willing to put in a bit of effort for some fun for all. It just is another reason that I LOVE lusternia over the other IRE games.

I've been trying to subtley push this agenda without provoking arguements over CT.

I think there's a lot more people than anyone realizes who'd like to take up this stance, but they don't tend to be vocal because they don't realize there's as many of them as there are, because the snugglebunnies are so much more vocal all the time. And there's an OOC bias against "kill them all!" and towards "can't we all just get along?" because most of us are probably fairly nice people in realspace, or at least think we are.

Uhm, just a reminder, Summer...there is no refill-ban, at least not Serenwilde-wide. There are alchemists outside the Moondancer guild.
