Perhaps that is the reason why initially offering corpses did not gain karma. Perhaps this needs to be looked into and readressed.
In my opinion though, I'd find curses fun. They wouldn't anger me, and I'd instead find them entertaining. I'm rather odd like that though.

I think offering corpses is fine. It means people who only hunt are not hurt, and people who have a strong social network but may not do quests themselves are not hurt either.
Murphy2005-03-26 10:18:27
oh yeah OOCLY i think its hilarious
but ICLY its gonna make murphy go insanely evil. I wonder if i get all 8 of them I'll turn into an uber-kethru or something.......

If you get all 8, the curses should become permanent till every victim you have is gone off your list.
Ceres2005-03-26 10:57:41
It's odd, because Murphy was telling me only yesterday that he'd "found a way around them" and that he could "get karma like that", and that thus curses would not affect him.
As for these people teaming you on neutral territory, where are they on your bully list? If they had indeed done so, you wouldn't have gotten status for killing them.
You have 17 suspects and 4 curses. That's 21 people you've killed on neutral ground.

Not to mention, 21 people he killed on neutral ground, and which HE was the aggressor.
Asarnil2005-03-26 11:23:04
Not only neutral ground its definitely also people he may have killed while raiding, while defending against raids. Hell, its still fairly easy to have a raider get vengeance on you, and then go Avenger you later just to be a jerk about it.
Murphy2005-03-26 12:05:30
hence the part about me escaping.
You don't get suspect for liching someone and I usually get away, hence the lack of them on my bully list.

I really couldn't get bothered to curse you, I prefer getting myself blessings. As for the attack itself, it was rather interresting you teleported to me when I was standing with Jethri, I learned the valuable lesson of moving when someone teleports to me without tells.
Anyways I think the fact that I'm Celestian should be reason enough for a Magnagorian to attack me, especially when I'm bringing power to the pool. It does not mean Murphy is a greaver, just that the character has a very bad personality.
EDIT: by bad I mean evil

Ixion tells you, "I'm not evil and neither are the ur'guard."
Next!
Next!
Murphy2005-03-26 13:48:51
Whoever said individual members of the ur'gaurd can't be evil themselves?
Roul2005-03-26 13:57:44
I can't remember the names, but someone in Magnagora was talking about how they were defending Angkrag from some Celest people, and killed a few of the Celest invaders. Then one of the Celestans put a curse on him.
Was that you Murphy who got cursed for defending? I don't remember.
But that's really weak. If you attack a town or a city, and someone kills you defending it, its your fault. That's so stupid, why would you curse them? People just getting all mad that they lost in a fight, so they turn into little whiney babies.

You can't curse someone that kills you when raiding enemy territory, because it's enemy territory, and the system is designed so that you don't gain suspect on people who kill you if you are standing in enemy territory.
Thusly, that story never happened.

Then someone hath lied. THEY MUST CONFESS AND REPENT FOR YON SINS.
Shiri2005-03-26 14:25:02
No, no, it's true. It was Torak. It was bugged at the time, Tuek.
Murphy2005-03-26 14:27:36
no shiri, get off my thread you aren't hijacking this one.

Okay, then he has no need to repent. Good job.

It was Roul, not me. *peer*
Unknown2005-03-26 14:58:16
Oh, was that the one where they ran, and then died like a minute after they fled the enemy territory to masochism or something? Not really a bug per say.
Unknown2005-03-26 16:13:33
Apparently I'm on Murphy's hitlist now for defending Rockholm. Meh. I have plenty of Karma for cursing and I'm not too worried about the XP loss. Wisping him into the guards was worth it and I'd gladly do it again.
