I need a website name for my website I'm creating, which will offer tutorials and a lot of other things based around MUD Clients. Any suggestions? If the name you think is too long for a URL address, e.g. www.mudclienttutorialsandhelp.com, I'll need a good URL name too.

EDIT: Also, say which previously-suggested ones you like. smile.gif

Why 'base'?

www.iwillteachyouhowtousemudclientstodominatethecompetition.com

but seriously... mudclienthelp.com, clienthelp.com, or mudhelp.com

I was thinking like database only .. Mudbase.

Heheh.

I don't really want 'help' in the name, though, it just sounds... I dunno. I guess I also want to have a community on the site as well, with IPB or my own forums.

mudcore
mudstation
mudsource

... Hmm.

You're starting to sound like your signature, all hippy and stuff. tongue.gif

Mudcore???
Raezon2005-03-16 04:53:21
mudhq.com sounds worthwhile
Bricriu2005-03-16 05:30:57
www.mudpies.com
Daganev2005-03-16 06:15:51
www.Zaltan.com

This way when you change your mind you won't have a wasted site. Also, the best sites are the ones who's name isn't obvious. like google.com (instead of bestSearchEngineEver.com) or zuggsoft.com (instead of BestMudClientEver.com) or lusternia.com (instead of bestMudEver.com)

Bleh, it doesn't matter about if I change it or whatever...

I'm spending absolutely no money (yet) on my site. Yep. You may be thinking it will just be some crappy average website with lots of popups, ads, et cetera, but in fact it will contain no ads or popups (hopefully). My actual host is HostMatrix, and my address is (funnily enough, Daganev) http://zaltan.hostmatrix.org. But that's too long to go to, so I'll need a domain -- probably dot.tk. The only problem with dot.tk is that all it does it put an annoying frame around your site -- but thanks to Jav@Script, I can remove that. biggrin.gif

So, the site will be www.something.tk. And, Daganev, I might take your advise and create a unique name for it (not Zaltan though).

That's right, I remember, daganev.com. tongue.gif

I like Ialie's and Bricriu's biggrin.gif

Oh, and you don't think it's stealing to remove the frames? pound.gif

Muddle?

Stealing? How? I checked their ToS and I couldn't find anything on this.
Veonira2005-03-16 18:44:01
I'm personally not a huge fan of things like MudHQ. HQ is SO overused, and anyone who has been to any video game sites would know what I'm talking about. MudSource makes sense, considering it's a source for information and...yeah. I don't know, I just tend to dislike HQ added onto anything and everything tongue.gif.

I assume they're framing your site to add ads (so they can get revenue to pay for the addy / bandwidth / whatever else you're using) and not for fun?
Unknown2005-03-18 03:14:43
Well on their site they make it so you can disable ads... It's just that most users don't know this. wink.gif If all fails, I'll just have www.something.uni.cc.

How about muddle.tk?
