I was thunkin', and talkin' to Tuek, and talking about ways to irritate people. How about a sigil that stops farscout/scry/windows? Maybe upgrade the Eye sigil to do this? happy.gif

Yes please. Eye sigils that stop scry/window/farscout = Yes please.

Or you know... make it a forest only thing... since.. you know... we are the only group of the three without a single scry-type ability. *cough* Kidding, I'm sure everyone would love that. ninja.gif

...I don't care if everyone would love that, I want it anyway. Maybe it can be one of those new Moon powers I'm sure are coming! whistling.gif

Yes please.
Unknown2005-03-16 16:11:50
No way! I'm not a forestal and i want it too! tongue.gif
Unknown2005-03-16 16:13:49
I meant a forest only thing. Of course everyone wants the eye sigil to do that, but they'd be pissed if it was a forest only ability.
Shiri2005-03-16 16:18:51
Make eye sigil do it, but break after so many scries? You'd have to wield it, rather than drop it, perhaps.

I donno... Lazul has something which makes him unseeable in clans. I have no idea what that is... when I go CLWHO I see a couple people and me. But seeing CW, I know Lazul's online and I know he's in the clan, but he's just not showing up.

I never really tried scrying on him, but maybe he's hidden too.

If there's already an artifact for it, then the Gods aren't gonna give you this either.
Shiri2005-03-16 23:02:51
It's an artifact, 400 credits, gem of cloaking, that stops them from being seen on QW, WHO, CLWHO, and possibly OWHO, not sure about the last one.

In any case - no, it doesn't in any way stop scrying.

I knew if I threw them out by the thousands I'd eventually nail ONE!
Unknown2005-03-17 00:03:27
Or perhaps instead, it had a random chance of getting through, like say a 5% chance of a scry succeeding, otherwise it just shows the same message as if you were logged off.
Typhus2005-03-17 00:05:48
Interesting.. Basically call you stupid for trying right? Of course, they would be able to see you on the bwho.. Course, with the artefact... Would those be sackable?
Shiri2005-03-17 00:08:47
I dunno Tuek, I think it should just be "You attempt to scry on Nejii, but your only vision is a stony, staring eye.", with no chance of success. I mean, you can't get lucky and port through a monolith, or wander as a soul through a dropped eye.
Typhus2005-03-17 00:10:55
Hmmm... Sort of negates the skill of scry and all that on it's own though, doesn't it..
Shiri2005-03-17 00:13:47
Like monolith & teleport? Like I say, give it a few, like, "charges", and it should be fine.

EDIT: Or, well, wielding it means a mage/wiccan/guardian doesn't have a shield, and a warrior his second weapon, so that's quite bad to begin with. Or you could even just have it thrown at the person and last a certain period of time?
Typhus2005-03-17 00:15:27
Hmm.. So combat of knowledge would be search whoring until their eye broke eh?
Unknown2005-03-17 00:19:29
Right, which is why I suggested, while it is wielded, the chance of a scry/window of succeeding is random.

It's sort of like soulmask in Imperian. Rather then it hiding your alignment like Achaea/Aetolia (There is no alignment there), it makes so that farseeing/etc only has a small chance of succeeding, so it is quite difficult to keep an eye on someone who has soulmask up. Oh, and they can soulmask other people.
Shiri2005-03-17 00:26:02
Okay, not the charges thing then. But a time limit is good. Since scrying is remote, if enough people do it, even with a small chance, they're -still- gonna get through fairly easily. And there's always thirdeye, so stopping it entirely for a short period of time won't harm much.
