Daevos makes a point that gets overlooked too much. All our warrior stuff is not only inadequately synergistic (especially blademaster) and weak, the randomness makes it strategically kind of diluted. There are certainly things you can do to put strategies together, but most of them depend on non-warrior skillsets and attacks (which is one of the reasons Serenguard have it harder still, our non-warrior skillsets Stag and Moon have bupkis for attack things that combine well with warrior attacks).
But with poisons being essentially random, with charybdon being the only poison whose affliction lines are masked, and with all our primary criticals random, it's not just that we can't do good damage, it's that we can't do interesting strategics. That's an entirely OOC thing, but it matters. You make a game that has a warrior archetype, you have to expect the people who sign up to play it will want a chance to play a strategic/tactical warrior kind of game. Then they find out that the best chances to sit down and think hard for combinations and tactically interesting things was in the other guilds. Might as well advertise a chess tournament but secretly only have Sorry! and Parcheesi.

Putrefaction stops the physical aspect of elemental swords, numen just stops everything, from magical to elemental to physical or whatever kind of damage.

Numen also uses 4 powers to cast and lasts only a while, it is also negated by casting omen on them. Whereas Putre lasts as long as you have the health and doesn't cost any power to cast or upkeep. It is a passive effect when compared to Numen, I'd say it is much better.

Numen is superior to Putre in a few ways. For one, it decreases all damage by around 65%, physical, magical, and elemental. Two, it does not harm the sacrament user at all.
It also has advantages verses omen, in the sense that it lasts almost a minute, while omen lasts around 10 seconds and can be cured.

How does Omen negate Numen by the way? My cosmicfire does 600 without Omen, 750 with Omen, it lasts 10 seconds. Hardly negates a 1 minute lasting defence reducing damage by 65%, like Daevos said.

Unless hunting astral and tanking about 3 or more denizens at a time or a very tough knight, putre isn't a good idea. Like Daevos posted above, it drains more life than it's worth. 225 every 6-7 seconds sucks.

If anyone thinks Knight Damage is high, without the use of artifacts.. then you need to re think your words. Knight damage needs to be upgraded, if mages can tank high level knights

From the look of the log it did seem that the damage from putre + actual damage was greater than the damage without putre, but your test was not realistic in the sense that you only got slashed once each time. Why wasn't Asarnil double slashing you instead?
If it was two slashes instead of one, assuming that his damage on the other weapon didn't differ too much and there wasn't much variations. Doubling all the numbers except putre would give.

I'm not arguing that putre isnt good, its just not as good as you seem to think it is in one on one situations, and especially against people who arent limited to physical attacks like yourself. You could easily moonburst when we have putre up, then slash when we take it down.

Since he missed once in the first set of combos, I just doubled the damage of his first hit in that combo. I also included the putre hits right before he attacked, as well as the one right afterward. They were all within a second.
I'm not arguing that putre isnt good, its just not as good as you seem to think it is in one on one situations, and especially against people who arent limited to physical attacks like yourself. You could easily moonburst when we have putre up, then slash when we take it down.
And Ceres, I heard it was 65%, test it for me.

Also realisticly damage knights dont really hit 4 times within 7-8 seconds. Because there exists such things as rebound parry stance web stun and para.
Putre is good... love putre. But the most benefit you get out of it is when you're bashing, 's why ur'guard are ungodly bashers. Pvp though well its okay.
and no knights dont need a damage upgrade...

Omen doubles damage and lasts 12 seconds, and contrary to popular belief, is not cured by focus spirit, at least not cured when I tried focusing spirit 4 times in a row when I had it.
And Thorgal, you said you've beaten me, when if I remember correctly, we sparred 3 consecutive times, and the first time, you ~almost~ killed me with soulless, but I tumbled out. Anyway, you ended up dying or liching every spar.

Geb has found a method of curing Omen, because the last few times I have used on it on him, I saw it vanish within a second. Also Omen isnt that good, it does not double damage. I should test it though.

It doesn't double damage - at best it added a third to Thorgal's attacks against me, and I ain't even a magic tanky race.

Dude, what the hell are you rambling about, Omen does NOT double damage, or even close to it, all it does is up damage taken by about 25% for 10 seconds, that's all.
Athletics puissance adds 100% damage on the next jab, Omen adds roughly 25% for 10 seconds.
