It'd be a good idea if we could paint the faces of others. Swiftstripes, lightning, greenman and trueheart. Profitable as well!

For those of you that don't know-

Swiftstripes -Increase in balance recovery time, reduction in armour protection

Lightning -Increase in eq recovery time, reduction in armour protection

Greenman -Recover willpower and endurance quickly

Trueheart- Increases influence ability and allows you to resist being commanded 50% of the time.

I like.
Desdemona2005-03-18 18:41:51
I don't. Those face paints are supposed to be guild skills, allowing others to "possess" them wouldn't be nice. Unless you could simply paint the others' face BUT they don't get the skill bonus... You know face painting just as a decoration.
Richter2005-03-18 19:03:21
It would have to show in your desc in that case.
Ceres2005-03-18 20:12:26
It does.
Richter2005-03-18 22:21:12
You're kidding.
Unknown2005-03-18 22:24:59
Nope, we're not kidding, Richter.

Though giving me a faster equilibrium, for a cumulative level 3 equilibrium speed as a Mugwump would be to powerful.

Same for giving an Aslaran Ur'guard/Paladin a level 3 balance, which basically gives them the only advantage the Serenguard have over them.
Richter2005-03-18 22:26:29
But I'm going to be an aslaran serenguard...

Ooh, quick *swiftstripes*

Fear! Level 3 speed, 14 st, super bonecrusher!
Unknown2005-03-18 22:27:58
Hardly. Even with that slight advantage, Serenguard cannot even compare to Ur'Guard/Paladins. Moon and Stag are very lackluster when compared to Rituals/Sacraments or Rituals/Necromancy.
Ixion2005-03-18 23:05:59
An excellent idea Mali.

It shouldn't stack with racial advantages (i.e aslaran) though. I would pay big bucks for constant facepaints
Unknown2005-03-18 23:10:35
I don't really like it. While it seems neat, it makes Stag seem less useful/unique than it was before.
Unknown2005-03-18 23:11:56
If it didn't stack with racial advantages, what would be the point? The entire point is it does, that is why it is useful to Serenguard. If they could use it on others, they'd be even farther behind the other Warrior guilds, because that is their only advantage. They need some major upgrades as it is, not changes that in essence upgrade the other classes in comparison to them.

How about make Facepaints able to be done to followers of Stag or Moon only? Or only on Commune members? evil.gif How would you like that, Ixion?
Unknown2005-03-18 23:15:25
From the title of this thread, I was hoping it'd be suggestions for new facepaints we could use for ourselves. I honestly don't think everyone else needs to be boosted, even if it does make the Serenguard a little profit. If it's done just for roleplaying, like festival face painting, and has no effect on others, that's one thing, but not really much incentive for anyone to get their face painted then.
Desdemona2005-03-18 23:23:11
War face paints. All creeps that like to war could have the chance to paint their faces to intimidate the opponent. biggrin.gif How many people doo actually bother to LOOK at others?
Ixion2005-03-18 23:25:33
Facepaint ideas are interesting and should in all realism be limited to serenguard.

Such is so far down on the priorities list that it's doubtful that it will be done soon. I would hope that blademaster balancing is the main knight related concern right now.

That's an even better idea! biggrin.gif And how are facepaints limited only to the Serenguard? Hartstone shares this lackluster specialization with us. Ah well. Was just a thought.
Sylphas2005-03-19 15:58:27
Lackluster is an understatement. I'd gladly give all of Stag for Waxing and Full. I went from using Moon a good deal, to having Stag sit there and look pretty. I influence better with Trueheart and Lightning, but overall it's just not that great at all.
Gwylifar2005-03-19 17:07:49
When would you be using Waxing and Full? Not while fighting, surely; the equilibrium loss is way too high then.

I would love to just be able to try out swiftstripes once, just to see what it was like. I keep kicking myself because, not knowing that "speed knight" was so overdone in other IRE realms and therefore was going to be crippled here, I went ahead and made one. Ever since, I've been having to give up one bit after another of my original vision of the character's fighting style, and I hate when strategics and RP go so completely at odds to one another. I've actually considered trying to talk the admins into letting me spend credits to get a pair of swords that look like rapiers but have the stats of longswords or broadswords, just for the RP of it. (Doubt they would, though.)
Shiri2005-03-19 17:17:56
Full CAN be good during a fight. Narsrim did it during a Full Moon, and for the 3p it costs it wiped ALL of his afflictions.

Waxing is good for bashing, with nymph.
Gwylifar2005-03-19 17:26:59
With nymph, yeah, maybe. But heck, if I'm going to stop I might as well just circle. I don't do enough damage to be able to afford giving up any of my damage-dealing capacity, I'm only a warrior, you know?
