With nymph, yeah, maybe. But heck, if I'm going to stop I might as well just circle. I don't do enough damage to be able to afford giving up any of my damage-dealing capacity, I'm only a warrior, you know?

Only faelings can whine!

Maybe not when I start bashing Astral, but for Balach and moose it means I really don't need a health vial, and even when I do sip, it saves me sips getting back to full afterwards. And Full is amazing for fighting defensively. True, you won't be attacking at all with the eq time, but for 3 power it can clear 4-5 afflictions even during waning moon. Green in lowmagic is absolute crap compared to it.

When would you be using Waxing and Full?  Not while fighting, surely; the equilibrium loss is way too high then.

I would love to just be able to try out swiftstripes once, just to see what it was like.  I keep kicking myself because, not knowing that "speed knight" was so overdone in other IRE realms and therefore was going to be crippled here, I went ahead and made one.  Ever since, I've been having to give up one bit after another of my original vision of the character's fighting style, and I hate when strategics and RP go so completely at odds to one another.  I've actually considered trying to talk the admins into letting me spend credits to get a pair of swords that look like rapiers but have the stats of longswords or broadswords, just for the RP of it.  (Doubt they would, though.)

I use waxing all the time, especially when fighting against Icarus and Murphy since I take 1500 to 2000 hits from them every 2 swings, it's a life saver. And I've heard Full is awesome, Icarus used it when we were sparring and it cured 7 afflictions for him.

Go Moon! Stag sucks! *rally*
You can get your weapons or anything customized for 50 credits, or even add another 50 to make it resets in your inventory.
Gwylifar2005-03-20 04:16:39
Says you. I have been waiting over a year and a half game time just to get my runes transferred from my useless rapiers to my tolerable longswords. What're the odds they'd let me change the description so much that it looked like a rapier?

So those of you who use Waxing while you're fighting, how do you manage to kill anyone while you're sitting around healing instead of attacking? I mean, how many rounds out of ten do you spend healing on average instead of attacking... and how can you stay ahead of your foe's healing if you're giving up that many tenths of your offensive capabilities?

I could probably save a few coins on healing potions when I'm hunting not-so-dangerous creatures by not sipping and then waxing after each one, but even I am not that miserly.

Well, the +1 eq regain is very nice for me so, and I only use waxing when I get below 3k health. I have posted a few of my combat logs against Icarus and Murphy if you want to see.

And I can tank almost any single mob with just waxing and not needing any need to sip. So I don't think anyone with high con would even have problems.
Gwylifar2005-03-20 04:52:37
Ah, I don't have high con either. I have speed in a realm where speed got nerfed. And that's it.

Plus, I get to not wake up easy. That'll be fun now, eh?
Unknown2005-03-20 09:47:03
I would give my soul, if i had one for one of those Greenman face paints, it's annoying sitting in the same room cause you have to regen over 5K Willpower at 10 per 5 seconds, so much time closedeyes.gif
Unknown2005-03-20 13:41:26
Transcend discipline and get the willpower circlet. tongue.gif
Alger2005-03-21 01:36:24
so how much does waxing cure and how fast is it? tongue.gif

and bad idea! no sharing face paints!

and mali i've told you a long time ago make all the serenguard go mugwump moon bonie and you guys can live in that 4 room swamp in the serenwilde. *rally*

During Waxing phase and with 5400 health, I healed from 800 to 1300 with 4 to 4.5 seconds eq use. On non-waxing phases, it's around 700 to 1000 in the same time I think. Slower than puella, less consistent healing than puella, and uses almost twice as much mana, and of course it's a specialization as well. doh.gif
Why does Moon and Stag sucks so badly? sad.gif

I tell you what, I'll make a Poll.

I dunno about you but stagstomping people in my demesne is fun!

Maybe Serenguard should get their own totem specialization. Wolf! And they can have some uber event where they have to free him from something or other. Then Serenguard can have abilities more suited to them than to druids or wiccans.

Throw in a face paint in stag that does +2 int and -2 strength and one that does -2 int and +2 stength!
Shiri2005-03-23 20:04:50
That should totally happen. Except that Brother Wolf isn't a spirit of the Serenwilde, buuut.

The warriors' third guildskills of Stag and Moon don't really dovetail awfully well with Knighthood and Athletics, I have to say. (Actually, I think Sacraments and Necromancy were more tailored to their specific guardians, too. But they seem to work a bit better together.

Or maybe it's just that Sacraments and Necromancy aren't totally poor.)
Nyla2005-03-23 20:45:06
Thats why I said there should be an event and he can become a spirit of the Serenwilde.
Desdemona2005-03-24 00:31:02
Brother Wolf... Yes.
Gwylifar2005-03-24 01:52:59
I think there are ways to make Stag and Moon work well for us without ruining how they work for everyone else. What it'll mean is a few skills will be added that don't help the other guilds as much, so they won't be a big boost for them, but they'll have some use. But they'll fill bigger gaps for us, and stay within the mythology we have. There's lots more that can be done with it than has been, so I don't think we need to add more to get out of it what we need.
Icarus2005-03-24 04:04:26
The good news is that I just noticed that Moonburst eq balance has been improved to around 4.5 sec for me (Dracnari). Yay, I get my eq back before my aura of rebounding! biggrin.gif

I hope that's not the only thing being done to 'upgrade' Stag or Moon though.
Malicia2005-03-25 18:20:01
All I have to say to you Alger is, 'How' *raises her hand solemnly* Mugwump Moon BCs? Heh.

Bring on Brother Wolf!
