Bug abuse? What the hell.
Combat has always been about knowing how to effectively prevent your enemy from healing the afflictions you want them to keep.
If applying health always heals the left side first if there's wounds there, it'd be stupid NOT to use this knowledge and focus your attacks on the right side and throw a feint to the left every now and then to disrupt wounds healing.
Knowing stuff like this has always been part of what makes a decent combatant turn into a good one, in any IRE mud. Arties aren't the end-all be-all either.

Unfortunately, the ability to do that only really works on mages for the most part. Mages do not have puer, so they have no way of controlling which side they heal. All of the control is given to the attacker. Anyhow, I guess a suggestion should be made to give everyone some type of secondary wound healing ability then.
Gwylifar2005-04-21 18:21:28
Mages and Serens -- we don't get puer either.
Unknown2005-04-21 23:55:43
They just need to update the syntax of applying health to body parts, so that you can specify right or left.
Alger2005-04-22 05:32:54
erm all you have to do is parry 100 the other limb
Asarnil2005-04-22 05:48:26
Umm, Puer isn't all you guys make it out to be - Asarnil has NEVER had to use puer no matter which warrior he was fighting. All you need is decent limbhealing and the ability to either hinder your opponent or take the one round of hitting to cure your limbs.

Terenas, you should really change guild or something.

Only during raids or influencing. I don't have the time to bash for gold to keep up my supplies when I have skills to trans.

I've actually never seen Asarnil fight, so I guess he would not need to use puer.
Alger2005-04-24 07:01:11
i rarely use puer also!
Asarnil2005-04-24 07:20:29
Geb go blow a goat!
I fight warriors all the time, mainly Ceres when she still was and other Ur'Guard and I have NEVER needed to use puer. Actually thats a lie - I used puer once in a fight against Murphy when he triple crushed me because my rebounding went haywire.
When I am on as Asarnil or my main alt, I do fight except unlike you I don't go out and look for them.
