I've only got a few things I don't like about it. (I love the whole skillset apart from these things, and the event was amazing.  Divine) The balance for dreamweaving motes is too long, 10 seconds for a single mote? C'mon. Perhaps lower it to five seconds? Also, I don't see why it should cost power to get motes either. That's my only real problem with it, currently, but I'd like to suggest something else. Would it be possible to have a skill, high up, maybe just before Transcendant, that let's us stay in a dreamlike state, with a mana drain. It's too fiddly to do much if you've got to sleep, dreamweave leavebody, dreamweave , dreamweave unitebody, wake, stand. Just an idea, and I think it fits in pretty well, and would make it alot more useful.

I'm not moaning! glare.gif

And the other ideas from that topic! Copy paste them! *peer*

Well in response to yer post, if you have 10 seconds balance loss for a Mote, you must have a baad balance regen, i'm a dwarf and i get it back faster then that. Dunno what yer smoking. laugh.gif Only thing i'd change right now is have it so you can change Target while in Dream state which i've found very annoying so far. Why would we need, willpower -and- mana Drain, it's hard enough getting one back. The reason it costs power for motes is you can pick them up, carry them around, embed and they're basically runes but -alot- better, i dont think you get an affliction message when you cast them at someone.

I'd like to see control downgraded. I think total immunity is a bit much, an extra defence on top of insomnia would be plenty. Even if it was only so that it has a 50% chance of disappearing.

What about a skill to bring good dreams to your friends?

Edit: Less offense, more subtlety! whip.gif

Target must have been an oversight, I'll fix that. doh.gif

You can now use all built in alias/target commands in dreamform. Enjoy.

I think it should just be the ability to wake a lot faster, as well as not autowake (so you can doze off and do your stuff without fear of waking up.)

And amen to that last part. happy.gif

Metawake wakes you up faster, and can be turned off for using Dreambody.
Soll2005-03-21 17:25:01
Well, it wakes you up a second or so after you fall asleep.

Can't you prepare the motes beforehand? How long do they last?
Soll2005-03-21 17:50:54
That log was of me preparing the motes before hand, heh. They don't decay, it seems. They just stick around in your inv forever. (Invent Motebags/rifts/decks. tongue.gif) Plus, it's possible to stop motes working. Ceres has figured it out, so dreamcasting motes are -almost- worthless on her (Embedded ones aren't) I personally think that Puncture should only be cured via the herb, with the delay to it's curing so that we can get atleast one mote through before we have to Puncture again. (Like sileris/flay, except it's puncture/herbcure)
Sylphas2005-03-21 19:36:01
I'd like to see, instead of bags/decks/etc, a way to have motes just float around you. Have it show in my description that I have dreammotes floating about me, and then give a syntax to tell me how many and which ones.

INM undoing:
A zigzagging mote begins to float around your body.

OUTM hallucination:
You pluck a flickering mote out of the air around you.

MOTELIST (ML):
You have the following motes floating about you:
5 flickering motes
3 twinkling motes
1 winking mote
1 gleaming mote
3 zigzagging motes
Sylphas2005-03-21 19:42:06
Giving us a way to see where all dreambodies are kinda makes it worthless. I don't like Stangmar always popping up at Mother attacking people, but if we could see him coming, the whole skill would be worthless. "Look, he's on his way here, let's get a group together to hit him with 10 burst/violet at once."
Soll2005-03-21 19:56:07
Yeah. And I love the floaty-mote idea. That's really cool. They should still follow around your dreambody, though, but have them hidden. Only see-able when you're in a corporeal state.
Gwylifar2005-03-21 20:57:46
Oooh, that floating mote idea is nice.

Sylphas, there is probably a way to make it possible to defend that doesn't cripple the attack. Usually that's done by making it so that detecting the stealthy person is never automatic, but an action you have to take, like Indigo; and if that's not enough, make it also cost equilibrium, balance, or even power.

So for instance, if a new skill in Discernment could detect dreambodies in your local area, like Scan, but cost 2p... Stangmar could still have a very fair chance to get in and do his mischief because no one could sit there doing a DreamScan every five seconds at a cost of 2p each. But at those key times when you have to defend because something's going on, you at least have some means of doing it. See? It doesn't have to be all or nothing.
Sylphas2005-03-21 21:16:57
I guess I just don't see the need. We already have sleepsense, which will tell us anyone on the plane who is asleep. If I see a dreamwalker asleep, I know to watch for mischief. Having everyone able to do it, especially before we're able to really see what the skill can do, just seems like overkill.
Richter2005-03-21 21:19:07
I see the floating motes thing like a dark archon from starcraft. You know, with the red haze and spinny thingies around them?

Power overwhelming... *creepy voice*
Sylphas2005-03-21 21:28:25
cheer.gif *urges the Divine to implement floaty motes* cheer.gif

Really, it shouldn't be hard, just take the rift/runebag/deck code and change the syntax a bit and make a few new messages.
Gwylifar2005-03-21 21:30:21
Well, if we could all become dreamweavers so we could all get sleepsense, I'd agree.

If I could trade in Moon for Dreamweaving at the same penalty you got for trading in Runes... that'd be something, eh?
