To tell you the truth, when there's a thread that's 3+ pages long and it looks like all it is is long-winded ranty whining, I don't even read it and if I do, I just skim it.

A tip for when you want to have your posts read: One liners are your friend. When you've got 5 zillion posts to read, nobody wants them to all be 1200 word essays on why dreamweaving is under/overpowered.

What, people read "Dreamweaving is overpowered" and take more account of that than "Dreamweaving is overpowered <1200 word essay on WHY>"? Meh. Well, I suppose that can't be helped...

A one liner brings attention to your topic. Once the topic has attention then the admins should perhaps request more info? Then, the obscene essays fly in.

Well, the thing is, you've got envoys to report whether or not a skill is over or underpowered and it's their job to write essays on why exactly they feel that way.

But yes, one liners attract more attention and are much more skim-friendly. You're still welcome to write obscene essays, as long as you aren't under the impression they're being read word for word. tongue.gif

I'd like to ask my envoy why he hasn't gotten us anything all this time, only I never ever see him. He gave up his other roles because he wasn't going to be in the realm, but asked to keep his envoy position in spite of that.

But the larger problem I started the thread with (and wish we could get back to) is much broader than envoy reports. It affects them and a lot more.

Hopefully Gwyl. we might have the envoy situation sorted soon. We weren't the worst guild in the game, untill the utility of mages went up with dreamweaving, now we arent even "well at elast we get a lot of choices". I think a major part of our problem is we get more choices than any other guild, and too balance for so many different skill combinations is near impossible.

One liner: Meh, not enough backup info here - it's just misinformed claims.

Essay: Meh, too much backup info here - I can't be bothered to read it.

Real nice. banghead.gif
