Even with the drain, that's a ton of commands that can go through.

there probably should be a way to fight the control.. or maybe have the time of control lower with the less will the Dreamweaver has (since Dreamweaving attacks use Willpower, if they weren't fresh, it wouldn't last 10 full seconds)
So.. like..
90%-full willpower could last 10 seconds
80-89% = 9
70-79% = 8
60-69% = 7
50-59% = 6
40-49% = 5
30-39% = 4
20-29% = 3
10-19% = 2
1-9% = 1 second
Maybe that would make it a bit less uber?

Ooh.. ok.. that's more reasonable then, in my opinion.. as long as it has an insane will drain so they can't just keep doing it over and over and over and over.

The cost of 10 power prohibits it from being used over and over again in quick succession. Erion is correct, 10 seconds does allow for a lot of harm to be done to a person.

Oh, duh.. I didn't think about the obvious power cost.
But yeah, alot of harm can definitely be done, but, it probably takes less time to get new vials than it would to earn back a bunch of xp, no? So, really, its not much worse than an insta-kill.
Though, I still think something like the Willpower ratio I posted might be a good thing to have tacked on to the side.

If you haven't got vials, you might as well be dead anyway. What's to stop the really evil ones from doing drop everything, and then heartstop?
Anyone tried to make people get things out of their rifts yet? If it's possible, do you think it would be faster to get back a bunch of xp or thousands of herbs, comms and vials? All in all, I think I'd rather have to get back the xp.
Edit: I think it was said somewhere that you can't force anyone to do stuff that pooka can't, but pooka has a pretty slow balance (especially compared to what Soll posted), can't make the victim do a lot of things if they aren't afk (and make themselves lose balance / equilibrium etc) and it's easy enough to stop yourself from losing more than a couple of items, even without selfishness.

You can't force Heartstop, but you can always force them to kick a guard or something. Still, at the point where you take damage, i'm GUESSING(hoping) it snaps you out of it and you'd be able to react and move.

Ouch, that's worse. Instead of dying once, you die multiple times.

Maybe their could be a limit to how often you could make them do something while possessed. Kind of like the 'hasty' message when you try to move about too fast.
Or, maybe the more things you do, the higher the chance it will fail - and even boot the dreamweaver out.
So, 1st action is easy, 2nd, slightly higher chance of rebellion from the host, and so on.
Maybe only dropping single items at a time, so no DROP 50 VIAL.
I'd just hate to see a whole bunch of hard restrictions placed on such a great concept.
And I really hope nothing drastic will change too quickly. But I trust the coders not to make any snap nerf-decisions!
And I'm not even a dreamweaver.

Heh, I posted about that kind of abuse being possible, then Estarra said it's impossible for a reason she didn't feel like telling me, and now I see a log of that very thing happening.
What on earth justifies being able to rob someone of every single item in his posession, next to all his power, willpower and mana?

Screw that. Rhysus used possession to gain lists of the current members of Fain and Raezon's Orders along with copies of all their order posts... nothing is secret anymore. I like.

Yay for posession, great idea for a skill.
