Eh. We'll live.
Aebrin2005-03-26 23:12:42
Actually I'm interested in seeing the RP to come of this.
Aebrin has no immediate contact with Glomdoring or Gloriana, but seeing as he hates the Taint...
I'm interested to see what Erion and the rest of the Glomdoring crew will think of this and how they will react.
And thennnnn... seeing how Seren will defend that little patch of Gloriana and perhaps even expand it.
Funs and giggles all the way...

Rooms are better when they're pre-tainted. =/
Narsrim2005-03-26 23:18:20
I'm not exactly sure why people are upset. Let's assume there wasn't a safe room, was Magnagora going to kill Lady Lisaera and Lady Viravain? Perhaps it would have been better if Magnagora entered and Lady Lisaera just destoyed all of them at the snap of her fingers? I'm sorry but combat isn't everything. It is rather disappointing that some people seem to think that they have some "right" to murder innocent noncombatants to stop an event when combat had nothing to do it and would have in no way stopped it.
If Magnagora wanted to do something, they should have immediately began contacting their own Divine allies and looking into alternatives.

I don't see why everyone is upset. So one room was cleansed to my understanding? Big deal, really. Does it mean anything in the big scheme of things from an OOC perspective? To me it seems like the beginning to a much bigger story. Calm down, take a chill pill, relax, thank the administration for the wonderful job they do in updating and keeping Lusternia active and interesting, and then find some new ideas to roleplay with.
Erion2005-03-26 23:26:15
Tuek's just pinned my feelings on this. There's action. It's been going low-key and half-assed for a while, but now it's going to pick up. Thank the gods.
Still, it makes me twitch.

Torak2005-03-26 23:43:06
If Gloriana is restored, I swear..my foot Viravains butt.
Veonira2005-03-26 23:43:17
Yeah. I don't know enough about it. But bah! Now some people in Serenwilde hate me even more when I didn't even realize what was going on! *mutters*
There's no way they'd restore Gloriana. No way at all. If they did, I'd probably quit because that would be the worst plot twist ever. The end.

I think a lot of you are missing the point.
This is the start to a series of role-play, leading up to the release of the Glomdoring, most likely. A lot of us knew it was close, but I don't think any of us realized it was THIS close.
And I could be wrong! It just may be another bit of RP! Let's take it as it goes. We can't always have our way in the RP. I for one, and I know those with Erion ICly, intend to continue on!

Damnit, one day after I leave!
EDIT: Well, if Glomdoring does come out, I'm afraid you'll all be seeing ol' Jack a lot more often, much sooner than expected.

After the initial freak out, Im gonna suspend judgement, hopefully this will be the start of some interesting RP.

QUOTE(Estarra @ Mar 26 2005, 03:55 PM)
If there was something you could do to hinder it, it wouldn't have been a safe room, now would it? Roll with the punches if you really want to RP.

Am I in the right place? I thought these were the Lusternia boards, not the Achaea boards. You know, Lusternia, the place where events actually care what people do and aren't just preprogrammed changes that draw a lot of people to stand around but be totally incapable of interacting with or changing the outcomes? I missed the part where you decided that the "story line" no longer had anything to do with the characters in the world.
Seriously, I see no reason why anything like this requires essentially an OOC alteration (off continent, safe room) in order to pull off. Gods forbid anyone other then Magnagora have to defend people and rooms outside of their territory to get anything done.
How much more fun would it be for the (already) combined forces of Celest and Serenwilde to have to hold off the magnagoran force (pick a room with one exit, mono and eye, with dreamwalking they could stop ghosters, and this would all be possible). Tell them they have to defend it to make the ritual work. If they can't do it, then put it off till tomorrow! Taking power away from people who care about the world and the outcomes, when NOTHING else in the world works like that, makes no sense to me. Can I ask Fain to come make Ladantine's room safe next time he's being hunted? Cause him dying really screws with my storyline...
Erion2005-03-27 00:05:38
They unsafed it, and I think it's no longer off-continent. I think it was just like that because a lot of serens were there, and they didn't want it to be a lot of bloodshed.
Lisaera2005-03-27 00:06:38
The off-continent thing was actually a bug, which was fixed when Narsrim pointed it out to Me.
Erion2005-03-27 00:10:34
Oh. See?
Falasin2005-03-27 00:19:43
I say just as Estarra put it "roll with it." This entire thing could move in the exact opposite direction, it's not like It wouldn't be without precedence in the histories. I remember reading about some obscure event... happened, oh, say about 500 years ago. If I remeber correctly that ended so much diffrently than it began. Just play it through, see what happens. Then if you don't like it complain, or not.
Because, admit it, if had gone the opposite way, anyone who's complaining now that they didn't have a chance to intervene wouldn't care that their opponents didn't get one.

Shiri2005-03-27 00:22:39
And heck, this sounds very anti-Glomdoring, and if Erion's not worried about it, no one else needs to be quite likely.
Erion2005-03-27 00:28:18
It's not that Erion's not worried about it. Erion's freaking out, going through fits of tears and anger.
I just view it as another chance at RP. It pissed me off at first, but. I realized some things, thought about it, and figured Estarra and the rest wouldn't bring back the Glorianna, as it would screw over a lot of players, who would then quit.
So I have full faith that the Glomdoring'll be coming.

Remind me... what event in the histories depicted mortals having the power to thwart the rituals of Elder Gods?
Maybe we've allowed mortal players to become too comfortable in thinking of Elder Gods are little more than powerful mortals and perhaps this attitude should immediately change. In every RP respect that could be imagined, it would be absurd to allow a group of mortals to stop a ritual of an Elder God.
