Gloriana? WTFBBQ?

Back to Common Grounds.

...Gloriana isn't for "snuggle bunnies". Gloriana is a dark, mysterious, mystical commune. Think Merlin. But darker. They're like the real celtic druids. Ackleberry was snugglebunny land.

Yes, exactly. 100% I agree. That is exactly what I myself hope for. If doesn't happen. Yes I'll be a little upset. However half the fun is in trying. I'm just so fed up with all the Serenwilde 2, snugglebunny crap.
Silvanus2005-03-27 01:54:38
Glomdoring has to eb Glomdoring. If its Gloriana, that means only one tainted city, and it'll always be 2v1 or 3v1, instead of 2v2 (nothing will draw Seren from Celest's side now).
Erion2005-03-27 01:57:01
If this seriously is the Gloriana, I don't think Lusternia'll live for a whole lot longer. But I'm telling myself it isn't. A lot of people tell me that they respect me, for sticking to my RP, living it to the end, etc. Which is great. But if nothing rears it's head saying "Look! Glomdoring has a chance!" I don't think I'll be around for the end of this one.

It doesn't have to be. Would be it be harder? Yeah, alot. Think of it though. If Erion and Cronnacht were both in Gloriana do you think it would be Serenwilde II or 3 vs. 1? No way. My character doesn't like Celest either. Combine the two and we could have the exact kind of set up that Erion mentioned.
Erion2005-03-27 02:03:18
By "kind of set up Erion mentioned", do you mean "If this seriously is the Gloriana, I don't think Lusternia'll live for a whole lot longer."? tongue.gif

Meh, no. The tainted forest aspect solidifies the 2 vs 2 thing, even though I'd rather not think of it that way.

I'd LOVE to agree that it wouldn't be that way if it were the Gloriana, but look at Serenwilde.

No I meant that quote right there. That would be amazing.

So don't think of it that way. Glomdoring already is. Remaking Gloriana and have it be different. That's a challenge. I wan't it to be difficult and a pain in the behind. That makes the effort worthwhile.

Edit: I already said it may be a pointless pursuit. I won't quit if it is. it's been fun no matter what. I really don't mean to be a @ss but give some of us who like the idea of Gloriana a little credit. We're not hand holding, sing song, lovey-dovey types.
Laysus2005-03-27 02:09:32
I like how much this change in one little room has shook up all the pro-glom people biggrin.gif
Shryke2005-03-27 02:10:45
The gods aren't so dumb as to make it Mag vs all... Glomdoring is the equalizer, and balance is the goal, so don't think gloomdoring is gonna go... It still is comeing... Also you don't seriously think all the Glom RPers are just gonna get shafted do you...? Have a little faith in the gods. On the other hand it would be better if there could be a little conflict in this, rather than just making everybody watch and hope it goes their way. I think the glomdoring people would be less upset if they had to do a quest to make glomdoring come into existance, but failed, than if Gloriana just took over...
Erion2005-03-27 02:17:54
It's GLOMDORING. Not GLOOMDORING. x.x

Azeal2005-03-27 02:23:31
I hope this turns out better then what I'm reading here, and this is all I say.
Unknown2005-03-27 02:33:40
Eh... it'll turn out good. Lusternia is pretty awesome, aside from the random combat issues that have been going on over the course of its opening.
Unknown2005-03-27 02:45:41
Either way I intend to run with it. It's too good a storyline. Tragedy or success it'll be fun to play out.
Singollo2005-03-27 02:46:27
Maybe you're ignoring something. Just because something isn't tainted doesn't mean that it needs to hate taint.

Perhaps its in the storyline that a tainted forest commune cannot exist?
There are many ways to deter a commune from going "snuggly," and taint isn't the only way. In fact, I'd say Glomdoring/Gloriana would become more powerful in itself if it wasn't tainted but still kept the darker forest tone and that if it is tainted, it will just become known as Mag's "Cyrene."

Magnoraga's equalizer will only result from itself. Another tainted city/commune might help, but if you're going to be unclever assholes together, you'll end up losing players and to players together.
Unknown2005-03-27 02:50:39
Excuse me? Insulting anyone isn't going to get you anywhere, especially when it's the admin.

I think it's you who needs to stop being unclever and maybe go take a nap. Attitudes should be saved for the Idiots forum.

Just let the storyline play out and do what you can to sway it how your character wants it, if they care at all.

Edit: Oops. Ignore me. ninja.gif

Yeah, Lusternia is great. Tonight I just got banned from my 32nd MUD. I'm running out of popular MUDS to get kicked out of! I treat Lusternia differently. Because unlike those 32 other MUDs, its cool. And it has Etain.

TEAM US STRIKES AGAIN.

Heh I have only been banned from 10 muds, you must be like the master of getting kicked from muds.....I bow to you.

But yeah Lusternia is different....from alot of other places, the admins seem to care about the place

If this was directed towards me, then I'd say its you who needs to take a break. I didn't direct anything at the admins, I think they're great. My "unclever asshole" comment was directed towards what appears to be Magnoraga's tactic of trying to prevent Celest from doing something by killing them, and offering Serenwilde to do the same thing, and then turning around and attacking Seren interests. Lets not mention the incesent pestering they do to the divine. Lets look at the whole Hajamin incident, defiling fulcruxs with violence, insulting various divine, constant nitpicking, and outwhining everyone on the forums except Narsrim. Hell, this time they wanted to go in and attack two divine, or at least people (who weren't doing anything really) in their presence.

Let's face it, certain members of the Magnoragan player base has given the city image of being a nuissance, not only in the RP aspect, but also on the forums, which has alienated it near completely from the other two player entities, as well as probably giving the admins second thoughts about empowering them, or giving them extra freedom.

I will say that Erion's actions after this event give me a lot of respect for him. He's willing to go with the flow, and is at least indicative that he's willing to be flexible with it.

What if Glomdoring/Gloriana became powerful on its own, without Magnoraga and the taint? That's pretty much what I'm putting out there.
Silvanus2005-03-27 03:07:52
You do realize Celestians and Serens alike have done that exact same thing, they are just not usually loud-mouth people (example, Murphy).

Amaru attacked and killed me in the prescence of Fain.
