Yeah some of you got the intent of the poll right.
Gwylifar, you're right the first guess.
I probably didn't make myself clear enough. When I say concept, I don't mean the current state of the guild or how the players are running it. What I mean is, when Lusternia opened and you were looking at the guilds on the website, how did they appeal? What filled your mind with RP possibilites and made your fingers itch?
Serenguard : Hmm.. New kind of warrior class with a forestral basis.. That sounds interesting.
Paladins : Ugh, same ol' concept. Hmm... Crusading knights. Hate that idea, couldn't stick with that kind of character (NOT Yeah, I don't like the way the leadership has run with guild X, so I wouldn't want to be part of that.)
On a side note, I don't really like the snuggly types. But Moralis I quite like. In a place like Serenwilde, it is realistic that there would be some people like that, and the fact that he puts the effort in to modify his speech consistently, and RP, means that I can take it. If a couple of people were like that, it's a problem. If it's one, odd little faeling, I think it gives the place more character without being an Ashtan snuggle-pot.

Oh, and with reguards to the Serenguard - the reason I liked the idea so much was because they weren't 'Knights'. They were Warriors. Kind of guys I imagine dressing in furs, with face-paints (go Stag!). Big war-drums pounding as they charge out of the trees roaring unintelligeble war-cries. Tribal warriors instead of Knights of Honour (No matter what interpration of honour). I'm a nature-boy, and the warrior-shaman thing appeals to me, coming from being a warrior Druid in Aetolia.
And they DO have something to protect. Serenwilde, for one. Then White Hart if they are a stag user. I.. don't know about protecting the Moon, though. Though Ethereal, fae and the Moon Avatars are there.
But I find the RP possibilities of the Totems and Great Spirits get overlooked more than I'd expect, which is a shame.

some of them follow moon

I know. Hence protecting the Ethereal, fae, Moon avatars.
My concept of the tribal warrior is a lot closer to the Stag follower, hence why I chose Stag over Moon with my character. It's not the only possibility, and someone who chose Moon as a Serenguard may have a different picture, but it's the one I see in my mind when I think Serenguard.

Gah.
Poor, poor paladins.

Can I just say that in the 5 hours I've played my Hartstone alt (I hate being a novice!) I've already experienced a Munsia NOVICE TICKLE ATTACK! or something like that. I mean, hello, Hartstone not snuggly? Maybe not all of them, but there are definitely snuggly people. It's a HUGE difference between Magnagora and Serenwilde. I'm not saying it's bad, and that there's no one like that in Magnagora, but it's just more apparent in Serenwilde.
Anyhow, I voted for Paladins. I just feel like...blah. They seem to have little room to have original roleplay within the guild.

C'mere, I'll show you snuggly.

It's true that, out of the box, the Serenguard didn't get given much to work with. Most of what's there is subtle and some of it contradictory. Our novices are Braves and our leaders Chieftains, so you've got a native-American-influenced tribal warrior thing going on. But at the same time, our guild tutor is sitting in an archaic library. We're not mentioned anywhere in the histories and have no canon answers for when, how, or by whom we were founded, nor for what original purpose.
We're doing all we can to make up the gap, of course, but we are having to make most of it out of whole cloth. Alyssandra has been working on the "tribal warrior" element. I've taken some time poking around the history side of things and coming up with interesting theories (and shared a lot of what I've figured out, learned, and speculated, with the admins in case they want to use it), but thus far we have no canon at all. I think it's pretty low on the priority list (for understandable reasons) -- though since some of my theories link to the centaurs from Gloriana, the Glomdoring development might incidentally toss a few new clues in for Gwylifar to agonize over.

I voted Geomancers.
Just... one day they were there! Pop! A Geomancer! No mention before any point, no history what-so-ever.

The funny part is, is that when Moralis want to speak cleary, he can. He also does so very eloquently.

That's not entirely true. You have this:
QUOTE(http://www.lusternia.com/library.php?inc=aftermath)
The next 500 years spanned the Golden Age of the Holy Celestine Empire, when civilization spread throughout the Basin of Life and other planes were discovered, and great cities founded, each with a nexus of power unique unto itself. Mages wielded new elemental powers, and guardians of the outer planes developed competing philosophies, perhaps evolved by the nature of the plane they guarded.
The City of Magnagora held sway over the elemental plane of earth and the outer plane of Shallamar, where lived three powerful beings who were said to be sisters and called themselves the Fates. Geomancers, the masters of earth, and the Fatalists, guardians of Shallamar, created the Stone of Truth, the last nexus of power.

Which is not much, but it's more than some of us got.
Silvanus2005-03-28 01:58:33
But, under the guild artifacts scroll it said the first Geomancer created the Tainted Staff of Earth.

Yeah we don't even exist in the histories, we just got some random, you protect the moonhart mother tree. I took the Warrior name literally and the native american themes and ran with them, because it was all we had to go on, Mal we even tell you how angry I get when she calls us knights.
