But to Vesar...
I voted Paladins, but Aquamancers are probably a close second for me.
I don't like idea - one, because I'm not too fond of 'mages' (I like Druids, but not straight out mages). Secondly, I'm not a big fan of the 'light' role, which I would assume would come as a part of being Celest (I could be wrong in reality, but concept-wise I link them with it. And thirdly... I prefer the idea of earth or trees over water.

So it's nothing personal, just things that do and don't appeal to my imagination and creative side smile.gif

I voted Hartstone too, close to what Veonira said, I made an Hartstone alt once. And, what I found to be paticularly funny, was that the FIRST, and yes the second interaction I had with anyone in Lusternia (In the form of a tell right after I graduated the tour) both contained *snuggle*......... I almost died laughing, if I found out someone was doing this in my guild, I'd not only outguild them, but kick them several times. (Well not really, but I'd give them a stern talking to).

And, in my opinion, the reasons that the ur'Guard have such good RP are this:

1. They have a lot of pre-modern history.
2. 7/8 of the guild leaders have not tolerated OOC crap on the guild channel.
3. Roleplaying an evil knight is easy, just be a bloodthirsy jerk to everyone not allied to you. tongue.gif

Actually, no guilds have OOC crap on the guild channel. Snuggling and so forth is not OOC, people just instinctively try to label it that to make it sound worse. blink.gif

I think Celest and Serenwilde would be a lot better if they did the same thing as Magnagora (banning all emotes - aside from ones that make sense, like "chuckle" or "snicker" or whatever - from CT, GT, GNT, etc).

whether or not *snuggle* and stuff like that are OOC on guild channels is debatable, some think it so, some think it not. Both sides have their valid points, but let's not go into it, obviously I side with those that say it is.

However saying that *snuggle* and the like are not detrimental to the 'gaming experience' of more seriuosly played RPers, is wrong.

All emotes are pretty stupid on channels because it begins with "Say" and you don't say *Smirk* *chuckle* *laugh* *part* or *tickles Booboohead on the nose with a sharp stick*

Oh and.. I am not sure its all that wise to determine a guilds worth by what you see on its GNT.

I actually try to play the guild more as a neutral and scholarly force in the City. I leave the fanatical stuff to the other two, trying to get the Aquamancers to be the even keel that keeps them all balanced. Not sure if it's working or not.

I have to agree. The Fates told us that's the rule, but trying to be the one who says "don't do that" is tedious, and gets people to be snide about you being "no fun". (Which may be true smile.gif but it's besides the point.)

And I think ones that are sounds are fine, even with the "say", though only in moderation.
Veonira2005-04-11 04:16:34
I'm of the opinion that some emotes are okay on channels, but only things that are sounds, like laughing. You can't grin, unless you've got like...a mic attached to your mouth that projects the sound of your saliva between your teeth and lips.

As for being the person to tell people no, all it takes is a tell with a reference to a help file. We have a help file in Magnagora that explains what is and isn't acceptable on CT and what not. It works out well, really.
