But we want to go through it again.

!

I blame Silvanus for turning something so seemingly innocent and beautiful into something dirty. Reminds me of taint. smile.gif
Silvanus2005-03-28 18:54:38
Wait... what did I do?
Richter2005-03-28 18:56:24
Ah, the old conversation again. Glorianna vs. Glomdoring...

We all know what I voted.

Glomdoring ic, because Richter has worked on this for the last ten years. He's been a part of every Glomdoring movement (though won't always admit it), and can be found having his hands in just about every Glomdoring dealing, in some way, shape or form.

OOC, I think we need this, but it won't turn out the way everyone thinks, or... so I hope.

I've spent hours talking about this over the last week or so, going over it in game, out of game, and while I sleep. Which, I have to tell you, is quite sad.

There can be no denying that Richter will be at the forefront of the commune when it comes out. Not that I'm trying to grab power, but should others be appointed, Richter will at least be around as a trusted advisor, which is also fine with me. Therefore, knowing that I will be involved in more than a little way (unless my computer explodes), I've taken it upon myself to gather the thoughts and opinions of the Glomdoring advocates, and together with my own, have come to a few conclusions about how this will be RPed. This, of course, is wholly dependant upon the players that I asked, and them keeping this up, not letting it degenerate into something lame.

This is how I see it.

The warrior guild will be something like the Aetolian sentinels, combined with the Ur'Guard. There will be no lovey-dovey crap going on like in Sernwilde, and there will be a certain amount of discipline and respect, especially since I forsee a few Ur'Guard joining the Ebonguard (name was guessed, we thought it would be better than Glomguard tongue.gif). They would be the watchers of the forest, and those on the frontlines of battle. Nature-lovers, but disciplined.

I see the wiccan guild being more like the traditional witch, reminiscent of those late halloween nights, just without the candy.

Lastly, I forsee the druids being a more devious version of the Hartstone, combined with some Geomancer. After all, Glomdoring is a fusion of taint and nature. I see some of them being very analytical, discussion how science has allowed this mutual mutation, and others being more interested in the magical aspects of this joining.

Of course, we could have a bunch of Magnagorans join and turn this into a PK fest too.

As always,

F'ai Glomdoring!

Wow... 37 for Gloriana OOC, and 37 for Glomdoring OOC. Heh...
Silvanus2005-03-28 19:05:25
Someone editted the posts, I think. I looked, Gloriana was at 9, 20 minutes later I looked, and it was at 25.
Desdemona2005-03-28 19:18:06
If Glomdoring resurfaces as a pro-Taint commune, I think that is the last drop Lusternia will need to polarize everything. We'll end up something more like Taint vs. no-Taint (good vs. evil all over again, just painted with different colors), which doesn't sound very appealing in my opinion. If instead Gloriana returned, a Gloriana that hates everything or even a Glomdoring that cares ONLY for itself, then maybe the conflicts would vary. We could would have the Light vs. Taint, Nature vs. Civilization, Forest vs. Forest.
Silvanus2005-03-28 19:27:55
No it won't. If Glomdoring returns, assuming everything is cooled between Serenwilde and Magnagora, there'd be a lot of tension between Glomdoring and Magnagora. Why? One word: Angkrag.
Richter2005-03-28 19:29:35
Was there ever any doubt it would be pro-taint?

I think the neat part is I'm going to do my best to hate Magnagora.

Which, unfortunately, leaves us with no allies. But cities are evil, remember? Must stick to the RP!
Nyla2005-03-28 19:31:18
If Glomdoring comes about and they will hate cities as bad as they say they will. Who will Magnagora buy potions from because I take it Rowena will be M.I.A.
Richter2005-03-28 19:36:01
Magnagora will continue to be screwed, and yet buy potions under the table through, well, me probably. My store usually has potions (undergoing changes atm).
Manjanaia2005-03-28 19:36:19
They could hate cities but still sell alchemy to Magnagora because it's good business sense.

But the communes are supposed to hate cities right? Why interact at all?
Elgar2005-03-28 19:43:59
even if they are pro-taint you would still have the following

Serenwilde and Glomdoring VS Celest and Magnagora (the city VS nature)
Serenwilde and Celest VS Magnagora and Glomdoring (Taint VS untainted)

so if all goverments get a bit of RP going you could have that Serenwilde still allies itself to Celest for defence against the taint. But that they will have their won agenda, when celest wants to attack Magnagora Serenwilde might say No, we don't give a damn about that city we rather untaint Glomdoring or alot of tensions arrise the famous 'uneasy allience' where diplomats must rp mending relations constantly

Or perhaps what you all seem to want
Everyone attack everyone, But somehow this would just be playing into combat and annoy most merchants.
Richter2005-03-28 19:44:04
I proposed closing ourselves in to start, building strength, and exploring our options.

We're supposed to hate cities, more or less, but they're still useful...
Gwylifar2005-03-28 19:55:12
Good luck to you guys with that one. Wait until you get told by Magnagora that you're violating your RP because you're not giving them stuff, or doing whatever it is they want you to be doing that minute.
Richter2005-03-28 19:57:33
Magnagora already wants us to be thier, erm, female dog.

I won't play... dog, with Magnagora. We'll be able to stand on our own.
Silvanus2005-03-28 19:58:49
Magnagora wants Serenwilde off their back. Glomdoring is the perfect thing to get Serenwilde off our back.

There'd be no such thing as guards in Celest if it weren't for Serenwilde.
Singollo2005-03-28 20:00:38
Yeah, watch out for those idiotic pooh bears walking around policing your RP!
Richter2005-03-28 20:02:41
Glomdoring may alleviate some of the pressure, but we can't back down to thier demands. I imagine Daevos standing next to the newly created council chamber, or whatnot, shaking his fist at us and telling us exactly what we have to do.

Then, I forsee someone getting ticked off, enemying him, and a horde of thorn beasts rips him limb from limb.

Boy, that would be a sweet deal!
