What about Nightsingers?
and What if the Paladins were the Starsaints?

Umm... no.
RoyalGuard? PalaceGuard? Hmm...

Besides, Nightdancers is just blah. Even Shadowdancers isn't that great. No need for there to be dancing at all; dancing is certainly a part of pagan rites (do the Moondancers do any spiral dances?), but it's less apt for dark rites.

Actually, since the untainting, Rowena's told me a little about the old Gloriana, and how she used to dance beneath the eaves of the Ravenwood, whilst the forest was swathed in the veil of Mother Night, and Raven wheeling in the sky above. And how deeply she was in love with her Summer King.
Shiri2005-03-29 16:14:48
Starsaints would actually be a good name.
But I think we already got told it's not gonna happen. :/

Gwylifar2005-03-29 17:07:11
Right, that's what I meant, though: before the taint, dancing, but after... maybe it's just me, but it doesn't seem as apt. Of course, I haven't thought about it nearly as hard as you have. I keep picturing goth deathbunny chicks with lip piercings and moody candlelight, like out of some Jack Chick tract (Shiri: look it up!), and I realize that that's a pretty stupid and patronizing thing to be imagining. I kind of don't want to think it through farther because I don't want to fill my head with some ideas that won't fit what's going to happen, though, particularly since Gwylifar isn't the type to try to predict it anyway. So I just let that really stupid image be a placeholder that preserves the vacuum so my mind doesn't try to fill it with something more reasonable. I hope that makes a tiny bit of sense.
Shiri2005-03-29 18:22:06
Ahahah! I already know about Jack Chick! I don't need to look it up! ROCKS!
That's the, er, "Dark Dungeons" guy right?

Give that man a potato!
Oh, or a pretzel, or something.

...darn, I lost you on that one. I BET THAT WAS ON PURPOSE.

What makes you think only a good commune will have bad RP? I mean, an evil commune will just end up home for all the thugs and bullies, it's not like evil per definition has better RP, one only has to take a minute peek at Aetolia to know that isn't so.

If I can manage to distinguish myself and earn a leadership position in Glomdoring, one of my biggest concerns will be to keep us from becoming so thoroughly infested.
That's an IC view of Visaeris' as well, although he's more "When I become leader of the Glomdoring... "
To offer a bit of info on my/Visaeris' vision for Glomdoring, I want to see Glomdoring as a dark citadel amongst the quabbling others. Knowledge and power will be the most valued attributes. But honour and intelligence are essential parts of my hopes as well. The brutish malevolence of other "evil" places in essentially all IRE games is something I do not want to see built up in Glomdoring. Twisted and Tainted as the Glomdoring wil be, I sincerely hope we can see a true "Evil" commune grow there. Subtle, regal Evil is so much more fun than "hurr kill!" 'evil'

Agreed.
In any action/adventure game, you eventually get bored of killing everything.
And start to pick people, for some reason.
EG, Knights of the Old Republic 2, I'm not a hack and slash evil baddie.
It's a Sith Warrior, yes, but Still doesn't kill everytin, becuz it's teh g00d guy.
And such

Gloriana is so going to be a Snugglebunny palace once Viravain is done with it. I mean, Gibber is skipping around everywhere and the gossamer spiders are dancing around. I just want to vomit all over my keyboard. Who knows what other huggable creatures Viravain is going to create. I'm just scared at this point, I hope the Ravenwood Taints her when she tries to restore it.
Richter2005-03-30 21:27:41
I'll kill 'em all.
And I agree with Visaeris' vison of the commune, but I think that we're screwed with him in a leadership position.
Or has everyone forgotten he got himself enemied to... just about everyone, last time?

There must be an ultimate goal for it, it's just some twisted route, things will surely turn out ok. I refuse to believe that's what's going to happen (Snugglebunny palace).
Xenthos2005-03-30 21:58:20
I really doubt it will be either.
Richter2005-03-30 22:11:53
I can't see it being snuggly.
Hopefully they make it like Aetolia's Bloodloch, induction only.

Nevermind the fact that he doesn't deserve the position . Others have been working longer and harder for Glomdoring than him.
Richter2005-03-30 22:39:42
Agreed, but I must reiterate once again that it is not my, nor thier choice, but... Thier choice. Richter believes that all big decisions should come from or be advised by, the gods. I suppose this has some real life truth as well, as they are our admins.
Erion2005-03-30 22:45:47
Their.

Maybe they have had plans for Gloriana since the beginning and they are just following it. And all your work and dedications and ideas are just void because it's not gonna happen.
I hope it makes you feel better.
Or maybe it's just a way to show players that it's not them who make the game and teach them some respect.
I don't know if I would cry or laugh if it turned out it's gonna be that snugglebunny palace.
