no have it instant just not through monos

Oh, you were serious. I thought you were making a joke.

There is no reason for flow not to go through monoliths. It would utterly destroy the usefulness of the skill for anything other than shortcuts intra-Serenwilde between unpopular areas.

Why don't we just give everyone the ability to remove forest? Demesne or not, regardless of area, just give them a sigil that makes the forest disappear.
Murphy2005-03-29 05:31:08
Yes there is. You can still flow to me like you can wisp to me.

How about even making flow an agressive ation so I can drop some suspects off my pk list.

It would mean instateleporting to someone whos not on a mono.

I 'd love to have an instaport into taint, no enemy would ever set foot in tainted rounds again
Elryn2005-03-29 07:03:31
There is no need for such a drastic change or to destroy the skill. And teleport is not an aggressive action. Just find a way to break the demesne using your existing skills. Remove the forest and we can't flow. If you can't, then accept you are in a disadvantaged position against forestals. You have ways to get around it, use them.

I'm happy giving people a way to resist flow that is active and not easy to accomplish. I'm not happy having the entire skill rendered useless by something as simple and easily obtainable (and impossible for forestals to destroy) as a sigil.

has an increase chance of preventing summoning?

Only if it doesn't pertain to any Seren players. Forestals already have summoning protection up the arse. Celest and Magnagora only have Malkuth.

Guardians:
Cloak
Malkuth

Wiccans/Druids:
Rooting
Red
Rock (only in mountains)

Warriors:
Red/Malkuth
Rock (only in mountains, only Serenguard)

Mages:
Red/Malkuth

Unless I'm missing something, only Mages are really screwed when it comes to summon protection, and Seren is only really hard to get in the mountains.

Using enlarge enchantments helps as well.
Shiri2005-03-30 01:06:34
I think Rock can only be bonded in mountains, but works anywhere. Unlike most of the others of his kind.

Mages don't use lowmagic. Only Malkuth exists for us. Not so sure about how many protections Nihilists and Celestines get, but yea... Serenwilders have summon protection up the arse.

Actually, think about it. Nature users have -1- more summon protection skill. However, the races for Nature users tend to range from the smallest to average. An Igasho Ur'guard is -extremely- resistant to summon because size has a huge impact.

With regards to the this flow still, I'd say sure but only if it included demesne summon... I mean, if you can attune yourself to nature to stop a spirit from traveling through the trees, I'd say you could stop water from washing you to someone else in a river or the earth from taking you for a ride.

Murphy, you have ghosting. Pull a Daevos and just ghost upon being wisped. There, problem fixed.
Elryn2005-03-30 04:36:01
Sounds fair enough, I suppose. Demesne summon has no counter currently, as far as I know.

But take off the power cost for a fail, in this case.

You missed one: Stand Firm (in Athletics, hence warriors). But since it vanishes the moment you move, it's not of much use in actual play.
