I'm just curious, with the Manse Privacy Gem, does it act like a Gem of Cloaking for anyone in the room? It'd be nice if it did.. but, like, if it only keeps people from listening (which no one can yet do anyway) or just keep them from scrying.. I don't really see the point in it if you can still be seen on who with thirdsight inside the Aetherways.
So. does anyone know for sure how this works? I'm considering grabbing one for my manse, but, not until I know what it actually does.
Thanks in advance.

In Achaea the privacy option wasn't really that useful.. It simply prevented listening in by Gods and mortal skills.
I don't know if it's the same here, but I'd imagine it probably is.
Unknown2005-03-29 03:49:25
It actually prevents listening by Divine? *blinks* I had always heard it didn't
Gwylifar2005-03-29 15:03:33
I wonder if it stops dreamwalkers and such. That would make it worth the cost, to have one safe private place for certain.
Ialie2005-03-29 15:06:37
Ummm dreamweavers can't enter a manse by themselves.
Shiri2005-03-29 15:09:09
Could do that link thing and follow the person in.
Gwylifar2005-03-29 15:13:54
Hence "by themselves".
Still, it'd be nice.

As far as I know, it stops only skills to listen in. If a god is in the room, visible or not or a dreamwalker, they will still be able to hear you.

Yeah.. I meant remotely listen.
Unknown2005-03-30 02:17:33
What the hell is the point of that? There are NO remote listening abilities other than what the Divine can do... that is such an incredible waist of 100 credits.

I think it might be pre-empting skills that are coming.
Ialie2005-03-30 02:19:51
If faelings get eavesdrop I will be one happy faeling. That and the ability to understand all languages

Hey We are part fae! We should get something inantely magical!

It prevents eavesdropping skills and you're right the only ones presently with such skills are gods.
It currently does not act like a Gem of Cloaking for anyone in the room. However, I really like that idea and may implement it!

I idea'd this a day or so after manses came out.
Shiri2005-03-30 11:38:56
Idea'ing is broken still, I think.
Ceres2005-03-30 13:12:01
It should stop you being located in much the same way as a veil and remove you from the who list like a gem.

Ah HAH! Well, I sure hope Estarra implements it. I like Ceres' comments about how it should work.

In which case it should cost much more credits.
