Yeah, I think that would add alot of flavour to it. Though perhaps you should be able to weave 'programmed' dreams (up to five), if you're in the same room as someone, so that when they next go to sleep the Dreams will take the place of normal dreams, and shoot off in the order you placed them.
Manjanaia2005-03-30 11:43:50
Thing with that is the created dreams would have to be vetted first. I mean who knows what someone might put in one.
Ialie2005-03-30 11:45:07
Who knows what someone might put in an illusion?
Its the same thing.

Soll2005-03-30 12:25:38
Yeah. Except you don't have to worry about wasting herbs while you sleep, since you can't outr/eat then.
Gwylifar2005-03-30 15:40:06
But illusions are very limited in length. Making a dream that short would be challenging, but allowing them to be very long makes it seem more important that it be vetted for grammar, if nothing else.
Soll2005-03-30 15:40:48
Improved Illusions have no limit other than 1 mana per character.

There is also more to dreams then just the text you see while your asleep. No, I won't clarrify anymore then that.
Ceres2005-03-30 17:22:50
Why bother with the tantalisation?
Richter2005-03-30 17:25:43
I don't get it. Clarify?
Ceres2005-03-30 17:51:36
Brilliant! Dumb it down for me?
Soll2005-03-30 18:21:52
oOoO
Shamarah2005-03-30 23:05:04
Quit trying to confuse me.

Dreams usually mean something, I thought everyone knew that? Think of the Dreams all the Mage guilds had before dreamweaving came out?
On aetolia the Druids and members of Slyphe's order had dreams for a long time that she was sick and then a new dream came along that she'd washed up to shore and someone found Her and blah blah blah.
Some dreams mean nothing, some dreams might mean something.
Much like real life, no?

I think this is an excellent idea. Since the content of our dreams don't appear to actually mean anything (ie, whether they are happy or frightening), I don't see what the problem is. Sure, they make you emote something while sleeping, and they make you less tired by a certain amount... but that really wouldn't matter for a 'fake' dream.
Alger2005-03-31 03:24:34
my dream said i was going to kill you all...
Stangmar2005-04-05 01:52:55
You guys actually pay attention to your dreams?

You're a very frustrating God, has anyone ever told you that?
Genos2005-04-05 02:04:43
I figured Hajamin was talking about how dreams are related to what city/commune you are in and maybe what race, but I'm not sure about the race. Or maybe he means that when people have dreams it also shows up to other people in the room. Like when they are trying to run or something. Just a stab in the dark.
