how in the HELL can you say demesne summon > wisp?
Wisp can be used by more people, and you can spam it. so yeh if they have a monolith they are stuck in one room, as soon as they move or ghost or die, you just spam wisp.
Not only that, the hartstone demesne allows for everyone to wisp AND flow. If magnagora had flow, we'll all flow instantly to the traget and kill him with ease.

How about this for wisp:
When you order it aggressive, it works on the same timer the other ents do, and tries to summon you over. Sticks around whether it works or fails. Stopped by monolith.

they should die once they attempt a summon.
Especially when defending an area. Or even have work work only in locations that are trueforest....same with flow.

Ok, instead of talking rationally, you just want the skill completely nerfed, I see. What would be wrong with a summon attempt once every 8 seconds or whatever the ent timer is? If you can't whore order willowisp summon, monoliths stop it very easily, since you can just get/move/drop and never have to worry about wisp.
I'd actually like to see it work just like beckon, but that's a much more major alteration.

You can't spam wisp, it takes equilibrium each try. If they are on a monolith, it takes equilibrium if you try, if they aren't in a forest, again, it takes equilibrium. If it summons them, but they resist, it disappears. If it summons them and succeeds, it disappears.

Truthfully, you can only spam demesne summon 3 to 4 times before you are out of power and must wait to regen out of your reserves.
Shiri2005-04-04 13:09:56
But unlike with willowisp, there's a lot less chance of it failing due to monolith/wrong terrain. (You'll always know when they enter/exit summonable range.)
Thorgal2005-04-04 13:13:49
Like I posted before, I've seen demesne summon getting resisted nearly 30 times in a row, especially against serenwilders, it's insane. They just stood in the demesne for minutes while the poor mage wasted all his power trying to summon.
Shiri2005-04-04 13:20:19
When I was trying (and failing) to "raid" Glomdoring and Silvanus' demesne the other day, Shorlen was summoned in...two shots, I think. I was summoned in another two shots.
Either something's changed, or it just wildly fluctuates there. (And we both had nature rooting and I had red chakra and brother rock, though whether rock counts I still don't know. But rooting and red were both up, and I still went under in two summons.)

It's never taken more than three to summon me. I really wish I could resist that much, because then my teleport nexus would have gone through first and I wouldn't have been owned by a statue and guards in Acknor.
Genos2005-04-04 17:08:57
It fluctuates, a LOT. I've tried to summon Narsrim nine times in a row, none of them worked. Same with Dumihru. Then I tried when Dumihru came back and got her in one summon. Just like I used to summon Thaddeus in one try, sometimes it would take three. It's just a VERY random code. I've never had to try 30 times but I've gotten up to about 10. For three power a piece, so thirty power and nothing to show for it. I think it's messed up...
Unknown2005-04-04 18:30:47
I've resisted being summoned over a dozen times in a row. It can be a pain in the behind when you want to be summoned.
Revan2005-04-04 21:40:09
Perhaps we should start using Travel. I heard that doesn't get resisted!
Shamarah2005-04-04 21:48:19
Too bad it costs three power, yet the Hartstone get flow that takes NO power!
Shiri2005-04-04 21:49:48
The amount of time people complain about flow, though, they do actually have demesne travel, which can be in more strategic locations, but takes 3 power. If it doesn't take an entourage, fine, but if an entourage follows a demesne travel than I can see why people disagree with flow being downgraded.
Shamarah2005-04-04 21:51:18
More strategic locations? A Hartstone's demesne is always forested, they can flow to anyone in it because they'd be in the forest.
Shiri2005-04-04 21:55:37
Oh.
Well, equally strategic locations. I think I was thinking that a Geomancy location is going to be more strategic than Serenwilde forest/Glomdoring, but for some reason didn't take into account that Hartstone demesnes are flowably...but I know that, really.
I'm just dozy or something. *cough* EQUALLY strategic.

But the ability itself isn't strategic, because it costs three power and the Hartstone one costs no power.
Ah well.
Ah well.
Terenas2005-04-04 22:02:48
Back to the beginning of this post, the attack on the guards was poorly planned due to Magnagora not actually bringing a Geomancer that would untaint the second he came into the room (Silvanus doesn't count because he was in the trees the whole time apparently ). If they actually had thought of tainting to get rid of the demesne, I don't think Thorgal would have even started this thread but rather one where they slew a ton of guards.
Shamarah2005-04-04 22:03:46
I was comparing it to Travel, not Summon.
