Ahaha. You get drunk after five sips of absinthe.
Soll2005-04-02 18:32:15
You should seen me. I drunk a full vial of absinthe, once. Took about a ten days to get down.

No thank you, I'm quite satisfied to be the weakest class at the moment in Lusternia.
Moondancers are hardly the weakest guardian archetype...let alone weakest class.
..you have the best magical/elemental resistance of all classes.
..you have the best overall regeneration of all classes.
..you have the best damaging ability of all guardians.
..you have the best manadraining ability of all guardians.
..you have the best control ability of all classes.
..you have the most escaping abilities of all classes.
Need I carry on? Moondancers are -at least- on par with the other guardians.
(with ability I mean both single skills and combinations of skills)
Terenas2005-04-02 21:39:16
Meh, stop with the who's overpowered argument, we all know Serenguard is the absolute worst class. No need to compete for that position.

Sylphas2005-04-02 21:57:07
They're very much the weakest guardian archetype, in that guardians kill with afflictions, which Moondancers woefully lack. They may have the best damage, but it's not enough to make them a damage class by any means, and though they may have the best regen and magical resistance (wich, coincidentally, only moon users really use anyway. How many Celestines/Nihilists do you see killing people with cosmicfire?), Celestines and Nihilists get more physical resistances, which are more useful, as they help reduce 5/9 of all guilds main attacks. And two of the remaining guilds don't rely on damage anyway.
Shiri2005-04-02 22:00:22
That's right. Moondancers have it good defensively (we NEVER have to worry about mana drain, frankly), and we can escape not-badly, but we have a poor offense.

Well so much for insta kills that require you to be under half mana.. doesn't seem so bad to me.

Shiri2005-04-02 22:37:23
Yeah, I actually submitted something to the envoy suggesting sprite be downgraded slightly, that should help. (Or did I? I'll go do it again just to make sure, sorry Narsrim
) But 99% of Guardians, the only ones with the mana instakills, just use soulless anyway. (Not us though, nooo, we get healing or hexes.
)

Silvanus2005-04-02 22:41:42
Uhh...
All Nihilists use Soulless, have you seen a Nihilist use wrack?
And then there's like 2 Celestian fighters, Amaru, who uses Soulless because he can't drain mana good, and Galvadore, who... dies...

Exactly.
Unknown2005-04-02 23:14:18
Pooka dies in one or two hits. Insomnia is 100 mana drain, hardly a worry, if it's REALLY a problem, use freaking merbloom, which is the equivalent to cohosh/violet.
Lash is identical in drain to amissio, so if you count in the forcing of focus body which is 250, and the banshee which is about the same, and they are both on a 8-9 second timer (whereas amissio/lash are like 4 seconds or less) it's as if we have maybe 250 more mana drain per lash then amissio. It's hardly difficult to keep up with, and most of the world can amissio or leech back if they get low. A Celestine/Nihilist can invest paralysis, which is a forced 250 mana drain to focus body, in addition they can invest powersink. They are capable of draining mana faster.
As for escape abilities? Nihilists have way more, all we really have is spores, which is about the same as hermit, which Celestines also get.
Moondancers are like super-nerfed Occultists with a much weaker set of entities, a much weaker set of back up abilities, less diverse attacks, with a nerfed version of curses (and curses was never that great) called hexes.
But I digress.

And yet Moondancers are the only ones who can get me below half mana.
Astounding.
Astounding.
Shiri2005-04-03 00:08:39
Kill the banshee/pooka/pixie, then. If you're anything like Murphy, it'll only take one combo.

Ceres2005-04-03 00:30:44
I tried against Tuek.
Know what?
He resummoned it.
Know what?
He resummoned it.
Shiri2005-04-03 00:33:56
Which costs one power and eq. So you almost completely stop his offense by forcing him to resummon and use up his power just from one combo. Soo.
Silvanus2005-04-03 00:56:48
Except... if you kill his fae, then you have no offense going on.
Shiri2005-04-03 01:01:25
But he has no offense going AND no power going.
Silvanus2005-04-03 01:02:05
He has an offense going more then you. He has his other ents hitting.
Shiri2005-04-03 01:04:13
The ents do next to nothing on their own. The only one that comes even remotely close to threatening on its own is the crone, which might give you like, shivering. And I suppose if you had no regeneration the banshee could kill you if you were left alone for a few minutes and lagged out with it attacking.
EDIT: And you have your infused runes/motes/demesne effects. I'm not sure if you can kill a faerie in one hit though, but the Aqua probably can, as a good aqua staffing on 3.5 sec eq can do more damage than knight combos.
