Once again, running away when someone uses a skill on you isn't a good argument. Otherwise heretic/infidel/inquisition is fine.

Ah, but thats the counter to Sap. Run away out of their demesne! Thats the argument used by anyone, they can just run away. So you too, could run away.
Shiri2005-04-09 22:14:09
The counter used to sap is...cleanse. It's not that awful. And I don't see how you're supposed to get out of a demesne while sapped, that's a lot harder than actually curing it.

Thats what Narsrim says, and he's either the first/second best fighter in Serenwilde!
The counter to Omen is not getting hit. The counter to cleanse is not getting hit. A smart Druid would take runes, as dreamweaving is useless to them. They'd fuse gyfu, when the paralysis thing hits, you sap, then you sling gyfu/ger, then you sling cen/lagu, and then just point cudgel with gyfu/ger everyonce in awhile. Its an instantkill for 8 power which is guaranteed if done right, and its not hard to do!

That's not possible, you cannot "time" sap. You do it when you can, because both you and your target must be in the trees, so there isn't any way you can wait for gyfu to hit. The real key of avoiding sap, is to be good at climbing down from the trees when you get tossed up. Just make "being in the trees" another "affliction" in your system, and "down" is the cure.

Assuming I'm not paralysed, webbed, off balance, off equilibrium, or various other things.

Yes, assuming ALL those things. It's que'd curing. It "cures" being in the trees when it is able too. You should do it, treat being in the trees just like being afflicted. Fairly simple since it doesn't use up herb balance or real balance for that matter. Just make sure your system knows to climb down when it is able too.

If you do what I suggested, have a ticker that counts down the number of seconds to when they're gonna be tossed into the trees, you could make sure that (as far as possible) you're on balance for the few seconds needed to climb into the tree and spam sap. They can't move down if they're off balanced, and unless they've been keeping track of when it's going to hit, there's a pretty good chance that they won't be able to move down immediately.
And I know some people have been screaming about usefulness of skills not being considered in teams, but considering how often team fights occur, all it takes is 1 person to seize, and 1 person to sap. Seize, shove (breaks both legs? so they can't run), seize, sap if necessary.

And if you do climb into the trees when it's about to hit, they won't be attacking you, and thus have equilibrium and balance, and probably won't be afflicted at all (if they are curing the simple afflictions decently, especially in the breather you get when you climb up into the trees), and curing sap will be a trivial matter. Sap is really not difficult to cure, it's aeon, that is cured by rubbing something rather then sipping something

Since climbing doesn't take balance, they can stay on the ground till the last second before going up.

Doesn't change the fact that when you are unafflicted, sap is trivial to cure.

Insects and fused gyfu can give paralysis quite nicely.

OMG! Do what I suggested and you will have no problems. Just wait till you fall out of trees and tumble away. It isn't that hard.
Thorgal2005-04-15 00:38:17
Yeah...so how are you gonna kill the druid while tumbling through his demesne?

I wrote a thesis on why this isn't viable on another thread.
Go read it.

You guys are jsut talking in circles. The guys who're right're right, but the guys who're wrong refuse to admit it. Give it up, stop being bullheaded!
