You are fighting with powerful blows.
Your dexterity has been enhanced through fine food.
Your constitution has been enhanced through fine food.
Your charisma has been enhanced through fine food.
Your intelligence has been enhanced through fine food.
Your strength has been enhanced through fine food.
You will call upon your fortitude in need.
You are protected by 7 defences.

So if I become a chef, can I boost my stats a bunch?

Only by one, Herofete and con food doesn't stack.
Shryke2005-04-03 20:18:34
Do you know how far herofete is up in the skill tree, I assume it's trans, but I hope it isn't.
Vix2005-04-03 20:21:14
It is trans.

Bah, what would be the best trade skill for someone who doesn't want to invest credits, but does want to earn some gold? Also if possible be usefull in combat? I'm thinking cooking is good, becuase it is a neccesity, and if I ever do buy credits, I can make myself 18str 9 dex 18 con 10 mana... oooer soooo seksay!
Vix2005-04-03 20:29:14
What class are you? And hero's fete is for a group. You gather a large amount of food, have the fete, and everyone there gets +1 stats.

Serenguard w/ lowmagic
Vix2005-04-03 20:32:57
Herbs may be good if you can stand the monotony and are aware about harvesting standards.
Shiri2005-04-03 20:33:20
Probably enchanter, as the quality of your goods doesn't increase as you go up in the skillrank, so whatever you're selling at Adept will be as good as someone at transcendant.

Or herbs if you're going warrior/Seren (it needs lowmagic), but I think I remember you saying Nihilist.

EDIT: Or, I could get distracted by my parents and ninja'd repeatedly.
Vix2005-04-03 20:36:32
Silly Shiri.

NINJA (X2!!!)
Gwylifar2005-04-03 22:35:29
One thing to get in mind right off is, in Lusternia, trades are not really where the money is. Sure, some people have made gobs on trade skills, but for most people trade skills aren't a primary source of income.
Athana2005-04-03 22:39:21
I think herbalist make lots of gold since they don't have to spend any gold to harvest. I know I spend tons on comms.
Shiri2005-04-03 22:42:44
Yeah. Herb profit is always fairly good. (It takes HOURS to get any decent amount, and it's boring as hell, but you can always make harvesting triggers, and it ain't costing you.)

The biggest problem with Enchanting is you need to work on two skillsets instead of one.

You get your core skills from Enchanting, which lists sigils, your class spells and big stuff like robes and rift bags.

However, the real good stuff and the moner earners, like Mercy and Kingdom are from Highmagic which you need to get higher than Master (since I only got Master and Tipheret (which is where Perfection coems from )).

However if you can afford to gain those skills, then it is worth getting enchanting.

Aebrin2005-04-05 11:37:19
Also the big prob is that most enchantment buying people are rich people. They usually hold big jewelries like crowns or necklaces. Which means it's higher in the skillset.

Fun aye?
Gwylifar2005-04-05 15:34:11
I can top that. To get poisons, I need three skillsets. tongue.gif

Admittedly, I'd need one of them anyway, and another one is quite useful.
Shryke2005-04-07 02:18:54
Hummm, is tipheret in lowmagic too? Lil' off topic but Aebrin got me thinkin...
Shiri2005-04-07 02:26:43
Tipheret is not in lowmagic. Instead, we get Summer, which is exactly the same thing.

But it's a moot point, as no enchanting class has lowmagic available.

I can make more gold bashing than harvesting... its more interesting too. Consider planting i make a lot less gold with herbs than bashing... so low that i wouldnt even bother unless its really needed. People have to realize that harvesting does have a cost, namely opportunity cost.
Elryn2005-04-08 05:43:32
How much gold do you actually make on Astral? I doubt I'll ever be able to hunt there, but I'm curious as to where the next best place would be.

I loved this event because I got to try bashing on Earth, and made a fortune... almost 900 gold from clearing it out. For the same feat I make around 300-500 on Water... but are they the next best places?
