Heh.
Xenthos2005-04-04 21:22:11
But how is that the case? Since this is all an analogy, let me switch back to the actual events- Viravain created the Gloriana / Raven (or so it is assumed). Kethuru twisted it all with his excrement. Viravain is returned, escorted by Hajamin, and restores a bit of the forest to the way it was WHEN SHE WAS AROUND, and it was Her home, as well as the home of the many creatures She created for it. She is encouraged to do it again to another acre, and she does... and the process is working, as stated by Estarra.
Then She gets impatient, Raezon suggests an alternative method, and she does it without talking to anyone about possible consequences... we don't even know that She has considered the seal. We were not attempting to push her any faster than she was able, and, in fact, were trying to make sure that she didn't do any more than she was able... we knew the slow method was working, we had no need to resort to a quick finale. We supported her efforts, we did NOT tell her "Faster, faster, go go more more!" or anything of the sort.

Does that His Doctrine make Lisaera's wrong, or Raezon's, or Fain's, or Hajamin's, or Isune's?
Erion2005-04-04 21:23:54
She created Raven. The original Gloriana doesn't sound like something She created. I bet the Gloriana was the work of SEVERAL Creators.
Xenthos2005-04-04 21:24:57
And that changes my point... how...? It doesn't, though thank you for pointing that out.

Yep.

When I asked Viravain why she was destroying what I found to be beutifull and why she wasn't just createing a whole new forest somewhere else to admire, she said that she can't just make something out of nothing.
Viravain said, in the log on these forums that she is not powerfull enough to do the whole forest, and all hope was lost untill reazon helped her find a way she could do it. She did not 'become impatient' the goal changed because of the urging of people who were not happy with the forest they allready had.
The people who are trying to take blame away from serenwilde sound exactly the same as Erion did when Celest killed the fae.

Wrong. Viravain was powerful enough to do so, just a bit at a time, as She was doing. It would have taken a while, but it was working! She just has a bit of trouble viewing Herself as having any power, which is why she made that comment... that is Her belief of Herself, which we were endeavouring to correct. Not the truth.
Unknown2005-04-04 21:38:16
So, you made her think that she's more powerful and can do more then that, what led to her overconfidence and taking Raezon's advice. Right or wrong?
Xenthos2005-04-04 21:40:00
Wrong. She took Raezon's advice because She did not think she was powerful enough... read the log! Sheesh.
Daganev2005-04-04 21:43:30
So gods don't know when they are getting too tired and don't have enough power, but you do?
Take the credit for things you think are good and don't take credit for things you think are bad... Thats not being very intune with nature.
Take off your city hats for a bit.

Viravain is, as has been stated somewhere important, probably Her help file or something, often forgetful of Her own power. So yes, in answer to your first question. We knew She had to rest at the end of each individual bit, but that doesn't mean we were as unconfident in Her own abilities as She was.

"So gods don't know when they are getting too tired and don't have enough power, but you do?"
Heh, except for Her saying that it was getting easier for Her to do it each time... not harder, easier. That and various other comments make it very obvious that it was Her "Oh, I am just a minor Goddess! I am not powerful!" attitude that caused Her to say what She did. If She had needed more time to rest, we would not have objected at all. It would have taken a long time, yes (how many times do I have to say that? We knew it would take a long time, but we were NOT TRYING TO RUSH IT. We were content to go slowly), but it would have gotten done eventually.

EDIT: Nevermind, after reading that, I ending up confusing myself.
Archthron2005-04-04 22:21:13
Here's a question. Do any of you think the advocates of Glomdoring would have let you keep untainting it indefinetely? If they saw you were actually going to change the entire forest they would have done something to stop you, and what then? You'd have failed, that's what. Virivain's solution was actually a good one, because she could get it done before anyone stopped her, but the thing is, she didn't have the POWER to do it. She failed because the creatures were coming too fast, and she didn't have the power to deal with them all. How is this an example of her actually being more powerful than she thinks? I'm sure she wouldn't have dared test her power in a situation such as that if she hadn't been convinced that she was more powerful than she was. We have the Serens to thank for that, as you recently said. THANK YOU!
Shiri2005-04-04 22:24:00
Actually, she didn't have the power to do it all at once because of the Seal. Look at the logs, when it started going wrong there was at the same time she started to use the Seal. She was more powerful than she thought because she COULD have done it by herself, deTainting the whole region gradually.
