I just have to say I can't believe everyone argues all this stuff.
My favorite is how it turned into a big fight between little kids.
Here's my synopsis.

Then thee two little boys decided to stop talking and play with their plastic dinosaurs before naptime.

Okay. Lets first all realize that Serenwilde isn't stupid enough as to go tampering with the Seals. Why? The Seals are the only and the last stand against Kethuru coming to the Basin and eat us all. Two, the Serenwilde wasn't as foolish as Celest to go beyond the limits to explore for a alien force that could speed-up Glomdorings healing. Also, since beyond the Taint, the commune has always been trying to heal the Basin. This was the goal every freak within the Basin tried to achieve. So Serenwilde trying to restore Gloriana would be basically the same thing that the ancestors of the Basin were trying to do when they were trying to Heal the Basin from the presence of the Soulless.
The error here solely resides on naive Viravain and Raezon the narrow fellow in the grass. Come on, how many of you didn't think "Our Doom is here" the day Viravain arrived? I mean, a Divine who was of the first to flee the Soulless, is described in a way that makes Her seem delicate, and on top of that arrives like a helpless child crying for Her protector (Hajamin). That doesn't spell good news for me.
So, who pushed the botton? Viravain, who encouraged Viravain? Raezon.
One last thing, we must realize something. Look at Raezon's Help File. To me that somewhat reminded me of Marlowe's Faustus. Someone crazed for knowledge, even forbidden knowlegde (in this case Soulless Knowledge) and that woudl do everything to acquire it. Imo, Raezon wanted to have some contact with the Soulless to get a piece of their knowledge, probably things surpassed His expectatives (out of control).

I still can't belive your talking about the seals and not recognizing what the real issue was.
Learn lessons from history poeple.. Cosmic Hope, Project Mugwump swamp, they all had the same intent, the same outcome and the same mistakes... I now add to this, Project Kill Glomdoring, or Project Restore Glorana, whichever you prefer.

True, daganev (more or less) but we are disputing that the blaim should lie with Serenwilde.
Desdemona2005-04-05 02:26:07
Daganev, go reread Histories. The WHOLE BASIN WAS INVOLVED ON HEALING THE BASIN FROM THE SOULLESS. How is Serenwilde's approach to heal the Glomdoring any different from this? Consider the following, if the Seals hadn't been touched, Kethuru wouldn't had possessed Viravin and maybe Gloriana could've been restored.
Silvanus2005-04-05 02:27:11
Just because Serenwilde did that then, does not mean that they did it now. Viravain pushed Viravain, Serenwilde supported Viravain, Lisaera supported Viravain, Raezon whispered to Viravain. Serenwilde supported Viravain doing it.
Daganev2005-04-05 02:27:51
Pah, now I really feel like an artist again. start an argument, and everyone else takes it elsehwhere.
The argument was suppose to be that Serenwilde needs to look at its priorties again, and learn to not be so city like, becasue if they had learned from the past...like good forestal communes are suppose to be really good at doing... then it would not have been a problem because nobody else was really pushing this project along.

Not true.
Daganev2005-04-05 02:29:55
because after hundreds of years of history, atleast 3 generations, judging by magnagoran history, and the words of Auseklis, people should have realized, (like I've been trying to explain all along) that detainting is not healing the world from the soulless anymore. They are as much a part of creation as kethuru is now, and destroying it will eventually destroy everyting.

Serenwilde did not support the cleansing of Glomdoring? Thats news to me.
Serenwilde did not support the healing of Ravenwood? Again, thats news to me.
Serenwilde did not support using the Seal, but of course you guys made this claim after it had already been used.
Xenthos2005-04-05 02:31:47
What you mean is, they should be doing what YOU believe a "good forestal commune" should be, and attempting to pin blame on us to prove it.
The blame can't be pinned on us, no matter how much you try- if anything, we screwed up by not supporting her enough to cast aside Raezon's words. But working to restore the Gloriana was not the problem.

I'm just basing my opinion on the histories, and the little hints and clues scattered throughout the help files.
If serenwilde was doing what I think they should/could be doing, they would probabbly own all the villages save acknor and ankgrag.

Look, this is Viravain healing the Glomdoring into Gloriana as a tortoise (slow and the way Serenwilde was encouraging Her to do so)...
Heal room >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Heal Room>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Heal room>>>>>>>>>>...>>>>Gloriana.
This is Viravain acting as a hare (doing what Raezon suggested Her to do so):
Heal room>>Heal room>>Heal tree>>DEATH
Serenwilde is not to blame for whatever happened right now, unlike the whole Basin at the times of the Taint ( except for the Communes).
Had Serenwilde been citylike, we would've requested Viravain to help us engage on Project Mother Moon and Back Again. Yeah, a spaceshuttle would've been launched from the Moonhart Mother Tree up to the Moon and Beyond to loot things we don't understand and accelerate the Glomdorings rehabilitation, something the commune and the whole Basin had been doing as ancestral duty.

Eventually you would've gotten there, to healing the tree. Yes, Raezon told Viravain to use the Seal, but it was VIravain's fault, it was Serenwilde's fault, it was Lisaera's fault all for having Viravain heal the Taint, not exactly at the tree, and for not saying anything if they 'knew' that it'd do this.
Desdemona2005-04-05 02:37:21
Oh and one last thing. Did everything get destroyed when the Taint changed Gloriana? No, so why can't something suffer another change and finish ending on a new stable state? This could've had happened if Gloriana had been restored through the slow and steady fashion.
Xenthos2005-04-05 02:38:12
And by the time we did the tree, the rest of the forest should have been restored. There would not have been that mass influx of creatures that came rushing out. (Which, by the way, is exactly what Estarra suggested doing... hmm).
Silvanus2005-04-05 02:39:16
That is Viravain's fault, and who was supporting Viravain all throughtout it, and who did not voice their concern and did not try to stop Viravain?
Desdemona2005-04-05 02:40:03
Notice, the whole Basin depends of Kethuru being Sealed. The Seals are the sole thing that keep the Basin and Serenwilde safe. Serenwilde requesting Viravain to do things aside from the slow and steady way would be the culmination of the Serenwilde's Death wish. Yeah, that meaning, all the Serenwilde had gone suicidal. By no means is telling Virvain, "Don't give up" bad encouragement. The bad piece of words came from Raezon when He said "Use this and everything will be better now". That is Raezon selling some drugs to Viravain.
Xenthos2005-04-05 02:40:45
We encouraged the slow restoration of the forest, not the rush to heal the Ravenwood using the seal. (Which has been said multiple times now...)
