When should we have protested? In the silenced room when she pulled it out? I couldn't even groan in dispair, let alone protest.
Daganev2005-04-05 02:43:21
Nice to know people can't see outside of the 'me me me, grab more power and be like me' attitude.
Xenthos2005-04-05 02:44:55
Nice to see people can't see outside of the "OMG, they don't agree with me, I'm going to pin blame on them even though they don't deserve it in an attempt to make them change their IC policies" attitude. Because really, that's exactly what this is, as you've stated multiple times... an attempt to make Serenwilde operate differently.
Daganev2005-04-05 02:48:23
No, thats not what I've said.
I've suggested people think about it. Who want monotonous activity by all the charachters doing the same thing all the time?
However, if people can't even imagine or think on the level, there isn't much hope for Serenwilde to be any different than any other forestal organization in Achaea or Aetolia, which will happen when this generation of players leave without establishing any unique culture to this game world.
You make way too many assumptions about people's intentions.
And to me, Serenwilde acting just like Celest did in the histories, and acting the way they have been, suggesting that history doesn't matter, what celest did in the past doesn't matter, to me, leads straight to this kind of activity, which makes serenwilde just another forest with potion filling abilities.

To quote you, "The argument was suppose to be that Serenwilde needs to look at its priorties again, and learn to not be so city like, becasue if they had learned from the past...like good forestal communes are suppose to be really good at doing... then it would not have been a problem because nobody else was really pushing this project along. "
There is nothing in there about "suggesting they think" about it, but that Serenwilde NEEDS TO LEARN SOMETHING AND CHANGE THEIR ATTITUDES, when that is clearly not the case. Raezon suggested that Viravain use the seal- if you want to blame Serenwilde for something, blame us for not guessing He was going to do that, and try to convince Her it was not a good idea.

Hmm, where along the lines of "thinking about priorties" and "learning from the past" does that equal, "change the way you behave"?
Almost all of serenwilde's actions would be the same if they had done that, except the part where they became suspicious of anyone against the destruction of Glomdoring, and activly pushed and almost rewarded the people who were for the creation of gloriana, AFTER the first two rooms were made and the memorial established.

Xenthos2005-04-05 03:00:27
... and if that were the case, Raezon would still have suggested the seal be used, and Viravain still would have used it. We would be in the exact same situation. As far as I know, Serenwilde has ALWAYS been suspicious of ANYONE trying to raise Crow. (Well, after the first time which caused a nifty little war...)
Daganev2005-04-05 03:01:33
Why would raezon suggest using the Seal if only 2 rooms of Glomdoring were a memorial to Glorana and the rest of the forest was to remain the same?
edit: To not fall into the PR Traps... Why would Reazon Mention to Viravain that the seal existed as a powersource etc.

Singollo2005-04-05 03:02:39
Because Raezon is a devious asshole of a god?
Xenthos2005-04-05 03:03:15
Your statement was about Serenwilde "almost rewarding" people for working on Gloriana's behalf. If they hadn't "almost rewarded" those people, they still would have worked for it anyhow.
Edit: Just wanted to say I love this "almost rewarded" thing. Hey, Raezon "almost rewarded" all of Magnagora just for existing! Wheeee!

Its hard to say what would have happened. Nobody can know.
For all we know, even if the seal wasn't used, the very change of the ravenwood might have broken the seal anyways.
You still don't see whats wrong with trying to change glomdoring in the first place, and thats the part thats starting to bug me.
If anyone should be doing that, it would be celest.

If the Glomdoring had STARTED OUT LIKE THAT, you would be right.
It didn't.

I don't know if what I saw ingame was a reward based on the glorana situation or a reward based on something else. I was trying to be polite. I'll stick to rhetoric next time.

Daganev, GO REREAD HISTORIES. Do you know that the finding of Astral was inspired with the most noble of intentions? Did you know that the whole Basin was poisoned before the Basinmen started healing the place? That the water within the Basin was accelerated healed after the proto-Aquamancers did their thing?
One, Basin (except for the communes) decided to mess with things at a scale beyond reason and without any real lookout for things that could go wrong. Else, if everyone kept on healing the Basin eventually things would've been healed. On the other hand, if the Basin hadn't at all started a process of healing, instead of playing a post-Apocalyptic game... you'd be living it. Yes, you'd be drinking from a quagmire of radiative muck. Famine would be heal, because the whole Basin would be dying thanks to the infused Soulless.
So stop saying Serenwilde has behaved like Celest. Serenwilde has behaved as every commune has been behaving since forever. Slow, and with faith of achieving something... or at least not screwing up big time thanks to a heavy rush. If we had done what Celest did, we ourselves would've tried in many ways manipulate the atomic bomb to help us on our duty. We could've bury Viravain in hopes Her Godly essence could've fertilized Glomdoring and help us reforest Gloriana quickly or even with our hands try to snatch the Nature Seal even if it were for one tiny second....
Also, try to act as a Nostradamus... and think "I forsee a dark community to rise from the ashes of a forest. The Moon on Cancer, Capricorn on red."Oh, and have I ever told you how difficult it is to get refills even for a forestal?

Raezon would suggest anything to get His hands on the brain of a Soulless. Unfortunately, He isn't a neurosurgeon (or whatever) nor had He a Soulless at Hand.
Think=Immortal God who wants power=A God in search for opportunity and the search for puppets/guinea pigs (Magnagora)

Exactly... people try to heal things, they overextend themselves, then they make matters worse.
Its the same cycle over and over again...
I feel like I'm in a robert jordan mud now...
Not to mention the GLomdroing was not a toxist wasteland. It is a thriving forest with its own ecosystem.

Xenthos2005-04-05 03:13:32
It's when they go for one big rush that something bad happens, and Serenwilde again had nothing to do with that "one big rush". YET AGAIN, we were content with the slow healing.

Serenwilde did not support using the Seal, but of course you guys made this claim after it had already been used.

This is what I was refering too, don't be daft. We didn't support the use of a seal, one of your gods did.
Desdemona2005-04-05 03:16:18
Yes, who overextended in this occassion? Viravain without the council of Serenwilde.
Think it this way:
Everyone healing the Basin=Viravain doing Her thing that was encouraged by Serenwilde.
Ladantine= Raezon
Project Cosmic Hope= Raezon's advice to Viravain to help the healing *Hint*Hint* We are all good boys here, aren't we?
What was the aftermath of that? The Taint. What was the aftermath of now? Crazy Viravain. If Viravain had asked Serenwilde about Raezon's plan to pull out the Nature Seal, we would've had pulled a Rowena and go "Mother Moon says this will get very ugly, DON'T DO IT! ELIMINITATE THE THOUGHT!" Also, in memory, "Don't accept any gifts nor advice from Raezon·".
