The math here is simple.
Raezon = I didn't learn my lesson about the Soulless the first time around. = Whispers bad advice to Viravain. = Seal broken, Kethruru released. = Raezon is patron of Magnagora. = This is Magnagora's fault.

Except Raezon isn't the patron of Magnagora...
Shiri2005-04-04 11:46:12
...and that.
He's Patron of a Magnagoran guild, and a member of Magnagora though.

That reminds me, something I want to ask. Are Raezon and Fain actually Tainted, or are they just affiliating themselves with the Taint because they feel it is stronger?
Iridiel2005-04-04 12:31:35
I think the porblem is Estarra's fault, for not explaining newly returned and innocent goddeses who not to trust. So far, Terentia did a great mistake for trusting Vis, and now this one goes and trusts good old Raezon into breaking havoc...
The next god around should receive lessons on who's who in the Basin!

You do realize taint is just an energy like water or ethereal forest right? Magnagora uses it to grow strong, viscanti use it both to heal themself and to destroy others, just like celest and the merians use the power of water, and the serenwilders forests...
Do you ask if lisaera is forested, or isune is watered?
Manjanaia2005-04-04 12:52:01
Yeah but aren't Viscanti's actually tainted, as in physically changed by it? I was just wondering if Raezon and Fain are the same.
Meh so I'm thick whatever.

Shiri2005-04-04 12:52:14
That only goes as far as game mechanics. Water and forest aren't characteristics of beings in quite the same way. A thorn beast is tainted, but a squirrel isn't "forested." Magnagorans are tainted, Serenwilders aren't forested. There's a difference.
Thorgal2005-04-04 13:00:05
Magnagorans are not tainted...viscanti are not tainted, only land can be tainted, by geomancers.
Glomdoring has been changed by Kethuru, Viscanti and Nil have been changed by Kethuru, the energy we call taint now, is basically nothing more than changed power, just like viscanti are a mix of all races changed by Kethuru into one race, is Taint energy a mix of all energies changed into one energy: Taint.
Let's not mix up taint and kethuru here, listen to your own divine instead.

Project Cosmic Hope was going great when Ladantine was linking the node, power was going in, no... things were killing them or no one was tainted. Then the stone of truth cracked on Shallamar, and things went to hell.
Project Gloriana Hope was going great, Serenwilde was pushing Viravain, Lisaera was pushing Viravain, Viravain was kissing bats, but then, Viravain did not listen to Lisaera, and things went to hell. Thus, it is still Serenwilde's fault, because they were helping Viravain, and just didn't get her ear in time.

Niara2005-04-04 13:07:25
This event shows nicely what the real Taint is and how harmless the weak taint is that Magnagora uses, be it a geomancer or viscanti.
It is also nice to see that most realize that the true Taint is more than bad and as much as some might have worshipped it they realize that it is the ultimate threat.

Exactly.
Too bad there will of course be retards linking the Taint of the current event with that from Magnagora.
Niara2005-04-04 13:10:00
*sniff* Niara never supported Viravain. She doesn't care for Gloriana though of course would rather like to see Gloriana to return than a prospering Gomdoring. The few times she went to Glomdoring she only did it for the show. After all it was quite amazing what Viravain did.
Gwylifar2005-04-04 13:14:48
This is going to be one of those lies Magnagora tells until everyone believes it again, isn't it? There's no authority like ignorance to convince idiots.

Actually, the goats were killing them. But that's not quite the point, as it's more about the Taint's effect on the rest of the basin that is in question. However, the stone of truth screwing up on Shallamar was part of the effect of linking, because of all the power going through it.
The seal being broken was NOT part of the bat-kissing and spider-hugging and whatever else, the seal being broken was something else.
The two incidents are therefore similar in effect but involvement of the mortal parties was very different. So it still isn't our fault.
It's as much our fault as it's a policeman's fault that a murderer kills someone because he didn't get there in time to stop him.

Yep, but I'm not backing down on this one. Saying we should be hating Celest and burning it to the ground is stupid, but it's not that ignorant a conclusion to draw, you just have to miss out some major factors.
This, this totally flies in the face of rationale.

It's not Magnagora's fault either, it's Raezon's, pure and simple. I think even He would admit it. Only people whose heads are too far up their agendas could possibly conclude otherwise. That's the part where Magnagora comes in.
