"He helped save creation from the horror of Kethuru."

Karrah did no such thing! Why does he have this honors line?!

He wasn't even around once for this event. Everyone knows how much I dislike honors lines. I've worked so hard to stay away from them.

As nice a thought it was for the Admins to give -everyone- the honors line...it really makes no sense. I'm sure most of the newbies have no idea who Kethuru even is, let alone had helped with it. I thought it was silly when I talked to people who said things like "...I wasn't even -online- during it." But at least all of the people who actually did help got it, I guess.
Unknown2005-04-07 03:07:16
I believe most people got it for simply surviving and living through the world-threatening event.
Ialie2005-04-07 03:09:25
ACtually everyone helped.

If any newbie did a comm quest to help supply the people with what they needed while the others fought, then they helped.

If any newbie bought anything from the shops in their cities or communes, that supplied money to people that were fighting, then they helped.

Any people that brought pixies to mother they helped.

Anyone that did almost any of the quests during the times the fighters could not helped.

Just because you aren't on the front lines doesn't mean that keeping things flowing at home isn't important.

Going down gmem, there are some people on there that don't have the line so it must be only people who have been online X amount of days before the event.
Karrah2005-04-07 03:18:48
Someone told me they gave it to everyone start complaining it wasn't fair that they didn't get the honors line.

If everyone has the honors line, then it's not even a status symbol.

I'll trade with Kharvik. He was at least attacked by a tentacle.
Veonira2005-04-07 03:24:00
Ialie, I see your point, but that's extremely convoluted. I doubt any true newbie had any idea what was going on, and was just trying to learn the game and make some gold, doing nothing out of the ordinary. I'm not saying that the only people who helped were the ones actually fighting, and I honestly don't care that people have it. I just don't see the point in even having an honors line if everyone does have it. Hell, even a novice who has 22 minutes of play time in my Guild has the line. If people seriously whined that much about an honors line, we may as well eliminate some spam and get rid of it.

Just becase you don't know that your helping to save creation doesn't mean your not helping.

What if Estarra's strength comes from the amount of poeple who have walked through the portal of fate and thier activities gives her strength while making Kethuru weaker.

THe line will mean something in 50 years when not so many people are still around.
Veonira2005-04-07 03:27:39
Okay, fine. Honestly, that's not even the point I was trying to get at, because you can take anything and water it down enough to prove that each and every person who logged on for one second helped, but in the end it really isn't a big deal. I was just sort of voicing my opinion of the line.
Narsrim2005-04-07 03:32:28
I think it was a good call if only because there were many people who deserved it who wouldn't have got it otherwise.
Karrah2005-04-07 03:36:30
I agree with Veo.

From what I hear, these honors lines where given to anyone they saw.

Should I be honored by McDonalds, if I take a piss in their washrooms?

That defeats the purpose of honors lines if they are so easy to obtain.
Ialie2005-04-07 04:21:22
Because of the acidity of your urine, I am willing to guess that by voiding in a Mcdonalds resturant that you would actually be cleansing it. So yes you should be honoured.
Richter2005-04-07 04:26:18
I don't think everyone should have gotten it, but I think that there would have been whining because some people missed it.

Just remember to give everyone who's online when Glomdoring returns the "Favored by mother night" line, hmm? *smirk*
Unknown2005-04-07 04:27:04
That doesn't even compare, Richter. blink.gif
Richter2005-04-07 04:27:53
Exaggeration for effect.
Faethan2005-04-07 05:16:44
I think it's better that too many people get the line than not enough. Most of the people who got it but didn't deserve it won't be around in 10-20 IC years anyway.
Unknown2005-04-07 05:42:24
I agree.. the people who deserved the line will be the ones who are around in the future anyway, when Kethuru returns a second time.. and the first line will actually MEAN something, because will have certain individuals who are shown to have endured the time he last emerged.

The fact is, alot of people helped, and there's no way to get them all who deserve it, so, i'd say, if you REALLY don't want it, issue and have it removed.. but let those who do want it, and wouldn't have been noticed enough to get it otherwise, keep it.
Morik2005-04-07 06:09:37
To whoever or Whoever did this: Thankyou. Thankyou very very much.
Richter2005-04-07 06:16:23
I like the change!

He survived the horror of Kethuru when creation was threatened.
Shiri2005-04-07 12:57:33
Whatever works. I'm glad of any recognition for everyone who DID help, and now the wording can't be called abuse or something. sleep.gif
