Trample, duh. In a demesne, trample is actually not bad.

Blastron's Mallet of /Hijack - 2000 credits

When a member hijacks a post on the forums, this powerful mallet is charged with righetous fury against the offender. By typing MODUSES MALLET, you can see how many charges against whom you have in the mallet. Then, while in the same local area as your victim, you may MODSTRIKE (provided that you have charges against them), which will send out a lightning bolt of righteous moderation, giving them stun for 10 seconds, aeon, prone, webbing, entanglement, paralysis, impatience, anorexia, asthma, slickness, hypochondria, narcolepsy, blackout for 20 seconds, stupidity, and masochism. Using this takes no balance or equilibrium whatsoever, and can be used regardless of your conditions, even while dead.

Cheer! Though I'm not a mod... wish I was. Mod me plz.

Oh wait, that was a hijack.

Ring of Mudwalking - 500 credits
If you RUB this powerful ring, the ground under your feet will liquefy and turn to a thin mud, sucking you deep underground. You can then move normally without a balance loss (unlike burrowing), with the commands DIVE and SURFACE used to move between levels.

Since we're breaking the fourth wall, how about these:

Ring of Viravain: when used, tentacles come out through the monitor of the player of your target character, and devour him. Can only be used if your target's player is reading a post by Viravain on the forums.

Hatchet Of Breaking The Fourth Wall: Allows your character to post on this thread. Warning: he may also get access to your credit card and start ordering things on Amazon, once UPS can figure out how to deliver to the Basin.

ObOnTopic: Buckler: Works like a normal shield for shieldparry and defense, but not usable for shieldstun. Can be worn (strapped to the arm); doesn't have to be wielded, so doesn't take up a wielding hand.

Artifact Helm:

Decent stats + makes you immune to shield stun

Artifact Shield:

Decent stats + will hit the target with the effect of the Rad rune when it deflects a blow 100% (this can be toggled on/off)

Artifact Great Robes:

Decent stats (can also be proofed) + can be rubbed once per day to activate magic power (a special defense that will create 5-10 reflections should the health of the caster drop below 20% of max which then causes the defense to fade).

Artifact Sigil:

Can be attached to an athame, cudgel, coral staff, or geo staff. Changes 50% of the damage type to either magic/poison/fire/cold/electricity. This change can be done once per month. Also, it makes the athame, cudgel, coral staff, or geo staff un-decayable.

Artifact Ring:

A wear-able monolith sigil that only effects the owner. This ring's effect can be toggled on/off.

Artifact Bauble:

Alerts you when an enemy enters the local area.

I like the wearable monolith sigil idea, would it just affect people trying to summon/teleport to you, or would it affect people in the room teleporting away and such?

Also, I already suggested the "bauble". It's called a Foreboding Stone in Imperian.

Edit: Also the Artifact Greatrobes that you suggested would probably be split into two separate artifacts. Though, I'm not sure I like the idea of a defense that creates 5-10 reflections should you drop below a certain percent.

Hmm. It could go either way... I guess once activate, it makes you a walking monolith sigil. It effects everyone. Although that may be too powerful...

Perhaps it would have to affect yourself as well, and have a small balance/equilibrium time associated with turning it on or off. I don't really see how it'd be to powerful.

Amulet of Haste: Now, now, don't be -- wait, you can be as hasty as you want. Sorry for being so presumptuous as to tell you how hasty to be!

Cattle Prod: You bump into a cow as it wanders aimlessly in a circle. The cow is unbalanced and unable to move, and you continue on your way.
Soll2005-04-11 17:58:30
Yes to the Cattle prod. *mutter* Stupid cows getting in the way of my sprinting.

But also... unsure.gif Something else... huh.gif I think I... unsure.gif Hmm. I forget

Can we say overpowered?
Firstly, Mages can Guardians shouldn't be able to wear anything beyond chainmail coif in the first place, Mages shouldn't be able to wear any at all.
The Artifact shield would just be plain insane for knights to deal with. We already have to contend with the randomness of shieldriposte stunning us when the parried succesfully, this is would make things even more impossible for knights to get in hits successfully.
There are few protections against fire/cold/electricity, that is why the elemental runes for weapons are too strong. There are numerous methods to block or reduce physical damage, making cudgel and geostaff do 50% elemental would boosts their damage potential to absurd levels. This is bad all around.

The Cattle Prod of Many Steaks - 5000 credits.

You bump into a cow as it wanders aimlessly in a circle. Blue lightning streams from the end of your Cattle Prod, turning a cow into three fillet steaks.

You mean someone might fear cudgel as much as an aqua staffpoint? Gods forbid!

You're right though, things that change damage type pretty much give the finger to balance, and while they ARE artifacts, there's better ways to power someone up.

Glasses of planar sight
An artifact that lets you see people on clwho and bw, if they are on another plane, but if they are not cloaked with a gem.

Claws of the Groundhog

Wings of the eagle
Lets you move at double speed while flying

Shapeshifter's Malice
An artifact weapon capable of transforming into any weapon type, with slightly above average stats.

Cloak of life
While wearing this, if you walk into a room with an udead mob, they flee

Brooch of the lich
Gives +1 to two random stats at night, and -1 to two random stats during the day. Note that this item is cursed, and cannot be removed.

Ring of reckless abandonment

Shamarah2005-04-11 20:22:42
Glasses of Infinity

Allows you to scry/farscout/window/thirdeye anyone in the realms, no matter what plane they are on, and see what plane they are on when you do so.

Orb of the Sun

Allows you to place an area in temporary sunlight, making it work as if it were daytime. Lasts one minute, can only be done 3x/day.

Amulet of Mastery

Makes a mount temporarily loyal to you, even if it is someone else's. Lasts five minutes, can only be done once per day. Does not work on cosmic ents or wiccan ents.
Sylphas2005-04-11 20:23:48
Artifact jewelry, works just like vials, but for enchantments. Twice as much for the same amount of work.

Wand of Illusions. Lets you make illusions. Long equilibrium recovery to make it more for RP than for combat.
Soll2005-04-11 20:24:03
Lich is the other way around. +2 during the night, -1 during the day. If the Brooch of the Lich came into play, no-one would buy it, because as you've described it, it sucks.
Richter2005-04-11 20:26:43
Other way, whoops.

Brooch of the lich
Gives +1 to two random stats at night, and -1 to two random stats during the day. Note that this item is cursed, and cannot be removed.
