I'm still waiting for the Mother Cactus.

I have not seen any evidence that says Roark is unwilling to code things that will never be implemented if that is what is best for the game.

Like Auseklis' post there. Well, not that it's a huge problem, so I'll drop it.

When someone says 'I use to think that , but now keep an open mind'
That means.. KEEP AN OPEN MIND He didn't say what to keep an open mind about, so...KEEP AN OPEN MIND.

Seriously, a desert nature collective is a fascinating idea. Deserts have a really amazing ecosystem, particularly since to a casual eye most of it looks like there's nothing even there. A desert commune would definitely be harsh and rugged and survivalist, and appreciate the role of predation. And a lot less room for snugglebunnies when everything's got spines. I know it was a joke, but, not to pull a Desdemona here, but I really like this idea. I am seriously going to use it somewhere.
Shiri2005-04-08 01:55:16
Yeah, but not in Lusternia.
And for heaven's sake, don't have some sort of totem cactus involved.

Ok ok, no cactus...how about a dung beatle.
Roark2005-04-08 02:09:08
It is possible to code multiple guild skillsets with the intent that if one doesn't get used now then it could be used in something later on in the future. For example, a non-tainted forest skillset could be reused for Ackleberry in case Gloriana doesn't make it, and a tainted one could be reused for when they (hypthothetically speaking) discover that underground forest buried beneath the tainted swamp by the Sea of Despair (whatever that place is called) in case Glomdoring doesn't make. That doesn't mean I did that, but it does mean that it is possible I did that. Or maybe I've been working on that new archetype no one's suspecting.
Singollo2005-04-08 02:10:32
I'm going to make a wild guess and say that there are no new guild skills and it was all an elaborate April hoax.

You do realise, Roark, that people will now be working towards differing golas and not just going along with the event assuming Glom is on the way. Damn you and your seme-ambiguous jibber jabber!

This is why its best to live in ignorance and be pleasantly surprised when the Divine do things.

Actually I told Moralis that he had a hearing problem and was told to stay away. He said he couldn't stay away from her. So I said fine get out. He got out.

He couldn't stay away from her? But I got the impression from talking to him that he doesn't like the taint.
Sylphas2005-04-08 04:28:33
But he's apparently utterly devoted to Viravain. Not sure if he thinks he'll be able to get untainted Viravain back, or if his loyalty to her just outweighs his anti-taint bias.

Hmm. But would you code tainted nature/totems specializations? That is the question I'd like answered.
Unknown2005-04-08 04:50:54
I do remember reading somewhere in an interview with Estarra that there was supposed to be another archetype that didn't make it in time. So even if we don't get a commune (which I think would result in everyone commiting sepuku) then I hope we do at least get that last archetype (or two or seven).
