US Navy all the way. Ship out for bootcamp in July. Currently going to dive school, but I plan on taking a SEAL challenge when I reenlist in two years and making a career of it
Damn eyesight kept me from being eligible for SEALs. Pissed me right off, if it hadn't been for that i'd probably have made a career out of it.

That's really odd, my brother was in the Navy out of San Diego in almost the exact time as Fain was, the places he went seem to be pretty much the same as where you went. You must have been in the same fleet (or whatever the proper term is), though he was on a carrier.

I was in the army from 17 years old up until I was 22, I was military police and served in Korea for two years and germany for another 3.
I started as a no rank nothing private and when I was discharged I was a e-5 Sergeant
I have 3 purple hearts from Kosovo, I was shot in the left arm while guarding a tank transport, broke my arm and just plain old hurt like hell.
About 7 months later while guarding Camp Bondsteel (in Kosovo) there was a riot that we went to break up outside our gates and I was shot point blank in the chest, thank god I had my body armor on, but it still punctured my left lung and broke 3 ribs, outta commission for another 6 months.
Right before I was to leave camp bondsteel there was a grenade attack near my position that blew up a telephone booth near my squad, I was peppered by shrapnel and thought I was dead, peeled the skin right off my left side of my body.
Needless to say, when they said "Sergeant, you wanna re-enlist?" I told them to go to hell...
And you wanna know what really sucks, is I don't get any type of compensation because they told me, your arm and body work...
So I guess unless I came home gimped up, I'm cool...

*shudder* There was no way Navy was gonna be my career.... I enjoy my freedoms and ability to actually have relationships too much.
