Would everyone still be complaining if they add a skill to Healing which refreshes your tiredness by 2? Actually give the skill something which pro fighters might want?
Shiri2005-04-12 16:12:19
Yes.

Not all of us are lucky enough to have healing. (Although I do. Muaha.)
Sylphas2005-04-12 16:35:32
No. If it exists, it should exist for everyone.
Typhus2005-04-12 17:28:48
Then what would be the point of that drowse? Roleplay? Bah, can't have every little move in the game.
Sylphas2005-04-12 17:32:19
Everyone can cure hunger, and it's still a powerful tool. Make sleepiness the same way; expensive, and you have to be prepared before hand. Giving just Healers a way to cure sleepiness is like giving just Hexers a way to cure hunger during a fight (granted, that makes less sense, but that's not the point).
Daganev2005-04-12 17:34:29
Mix some kafe with some sparkleberry and you get yourself coffee, which reduces your level of sleepiness. But then makes you dead tired later.

That's actually a really good idea..it'll help against the first sleepiness, but if the fight drags on too long, there's no stopping it anymore.
Terenas2005-04-12 18:31:21
Well, there is an ability that slows down hunger for a short duration at the cost of 3 powers in Lowmagic. Perhaps Highmagic can get something similar for sleepiness? Hunger is much more devestating anyway, but it would be nice if we could get some counters to Drowse.
Shiri2005-04-13 22:29:42
I think it'd be more appropriate in Discipline (then again, so would Orange) but Estarra specifically said that wasn't gonna happen. :/
Shamarah2005-04-14 10:19:02
So basically, you're telling me that you want to make possess impossible to pull off in combat, make motes utterly useless, and be able to easily undo what already takes us 15 power to pull off?
Nayl2005-04-14 10:53:21
Yes.
Next?

Heh, they did basically describe Dreamweaving as a non-combat skill, or less of a fighters choice then runes. Go figure.

I think thats a good idea. A power based ability (if it can almost cut out a skillset, I'm thinking at least 5) in highmagic that allows you to temporarily avoid falling asleep due to tiredness, but that doesn't last very long.

I vote we all take my former thread suggestion to just add 5 new, completely unique skills to both highmagic and lowmagic because as it stands, they are both to similar. This could be a highmagic one.

I also have this other kickbutt idea. Highmagic will get the ability to magically shield but not break shields. Lowmagic will get the ability to break shields but not shield... and tada, sulfur/salt have purpose.
Sylphas2005-04-14 14:53:29
Problem with adding 5 new skills to each is that you'd have to really work on the concept for names and descriptions. Lowmagic uses all the chakras and seasons already, and there's no handy group of 5 I can think of, besides the 5 elements, and those (the traditional 4 at least) are used by mages already.

Don't know much about cabbala, but I figure Highmagic is about full too.

We can blend chakras! Little bit of Yellow + Orange = Mango!
Nayl2005-04-14 15:17:15
Mango?
MANGO?
WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS IS? SOME KIND OF FRUIT FARM?
(Note: Serenwilde does indeed, own, or actively support fruit farming)
Sylphas2005-04-14 15:43:40
INVOKE MANGO
By invoking the properties of this fruit, you will produce a magical fruit platter, that will both fill you up and increase your constitution.

More unique skills in highmagic/lowmagic would be nice.

As for the second idea, it's actually interesting... but I guess both shielding and breaking shield skills are supposed to be available to everyone.
